For the most part i will only eat 2 or 1 things a day. For example if my mom brings home chicken with bread sticks (she works at a restaurant) i will only eat the bread-stick, then go to bed. Recently i have cut back to only eating small portions of things, like cutting the corner off the chicken or whatever. And my parents are starting to get worried, since whenever i get to hungry i shake, become weak and in some occasions get extremely lightheaded. I tried to eat more so they wouldn't be worried; however i just am not hungry. Its hard to force yourself to eat, when you simply are not hungry, no matter whether or not you ate anything. I have gone a whole day without eating and when my mom got home. she forced me to eat. I'm mostly worried that i will lose my appetite completely. Eating has become the least concern to me, and when i am hungry i will drink a lot of water to 'cover' up the hungry in a sense. i just don't know what to do.
Thanks for reading ~

They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart; they eat even though they've never experienced hunger; they study even though they have no interest in academics; they seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such monsters, I would likely be eaten by them... because in truth, I am that monster.

The less we eat the less appetite we end up having. I have had serious anorexia 2 times when my weight got so low I ended up in the medical hospital. Both times I lost my appetite to the point where even when I was hungry, my body never told me I was.

The last time happened after I went through a trauma & the stress triggered the weight loss & the lack of appetite. That was 10 years ago....it wasn't until this last year that my body finally started telling me it was hungry again..
The more you push it the worse it gets. You need to get yourself to eat a little bit more times of the day. The shaking & the lightheaded turns into passing out when you don't even expect it.....I ride horses & feeling that way while riding wasn't even safe & it's not safe if driving as other's lives are then placed in danger because of your choices. Drinking water doesn't have the nutrition your body needs in order to maintain it's functioning or healing. You won't get dehydrated, but it doesn't help the body get the fuel it needs to function. If you are in school, your mind will also slowly stop functioning at the level it needs to accomplish the work you need to do. There is nothing wise about not eating.

I agree with that. I'm not technically anorexic, but I do go for long periods without eating sometimes. The first day, I'll feel hungry, but after that, I don't feel hungry at all or have any urge to eat.

Do you see a therapist? If not, I urge you to start seeing a T who is knowledgeable about eating disorders.

i definitely would get into a therapist asap as well as a medical doctor who can monitor your vitals and get blood work to make sure your body is not physically in danger from malnutrition. it doesn't matter what your weight is at, your body can suffer in ways that can potentially cause lasting damage or put you at risk.

i had anorexia for 7 years and had to force myself to eat at times. it was very difficult. in the end, i needed residential treatment to help me manage it and have been in recovery now for 8 years.

i don't know your story and if you have an eating disorder or if this is something new for you or not, but the sooner you get help for it regardless of what it is, the better chance you have at learning to manage it better with less lasting consequences.

Hello MissLab! YES, I defanitely agree with what everybody has said regarding not eating because you don't feel hungry. You're already suffering the consequences of starvation, the shakes, the light headedness etc, these are warning bells which you need to heed to. I'm sure you haven't been to see your family Dr concerning this issue, so it would be a very good start. Don't worry as he/she would have heard of your problems multiple times before, it's more common than you think. I too find that the longer I go without eating, the less hungry I feel, in fact I end up feeling very nauseaiated and sometimes I even vomit. Everyone has given you some very valuable advice here and they've been in your position. Do let us know how you get along. Hugs and Loves. Xxx
