I am totally freaked out and grossed out by the cotton in over the counter pill bottles. The feel of it makes me sick, just thinking about it is making me cringe and gag.

LilJamie,

That must make it really difficult when you have to get medication. Do you have any idea where this fear is originating from? Have you sought help for it? What do you do when you get medicine? Have someone else remove the cotton? Try to stomach doing it yourself? Good luck dealing with this.

I usually have someone take the cotton out for me or I will use something to get it out. It always grossed me out but it has gotten worse the last few years.

Hello liljamie. I know the feeling. I don't really like it neither. I don't like the way it feels. And I hate the way it makes that weird squeeky sound when you pull it out of the bottle. While it makes my stomach do a flipping roll, I can deal with it. What really freaks me out though, is when someone rakes their fingernails on fabric. UGH it is just like nails on a chalk board to me makes me shudder. I can't deal with that.

Why don't you have someone else take it out or perhaps you could use tweezers and gloves so you wouldn't have to touch it.
