Hello, jacpeaceandlove. Click on the Resources tab at the top of the page. There are quite a few articles on anxiety and panic there.
Good luck. |

Hi, I agree with the previous statement about going on the resource board. Also, is she in therapy, given the amount of time you have been together you might find out if you can go to one session with her to talk and find out how to help her. Also, you can ask her directly what you can do to help her. My really close friends know what is going on and how to help me if I start to get into a panic.

Ask her how you can help her, different times, different triggers, perhaps many things and often she may have anxiety over something you would never imagine. You are a great BF to her for asking for help, may she know how lucky she is to have you. If you ask her to describe things that happen to her when she's experiencing the anxiety then you can be watchful and do what she needs when she's becoming anxious. Offering to go to T with her, is wonderful and very supportive. You are one hell of a guy to put this question out there and wanting to be so supportive of her.

i agree about asking her. i know when i would get panic attacks, just talking to the person i love would help me calm down.

I do that but sometimes i feel like that's not enough. I feel powerless and i really love her, were suppose to move in together this summer. I want to know how to treat good, ill always be there for her if she wants to talk, and i always tell her how much i love her during how painc attacks trying to calm her down but it doesnt work. then she thinks bad of herself saying i deserve someone better, but i dont cause she mean everything to me. I really want to marry her

Is your friend seeing a therapist? If so, you might want to go with her to a session and ask your questions of the therapist.
Good luck. |

no she doesn't see a therapist anymore she doesn't like them. i can't go with her cause i dont live in the same country as her. i mean we see eachother once in a while, but not more than that. Were going to live together this summer so maybe i could do that then

funnily enough, he started laughing at me when i cried when i was having panic attacks. he started doing it because when he'd tell me not to cry and he loved me, i'd cry harder because it made me miss him so much since he lives far away. when he started laughing, i'd call him mean and start laughing too. if nothing else, you'll stumble upon something with all your efforts that comforts her somehow. |

I have GAD. I take 30 mg of Lexapro a day. It helps. Good luck.
