I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for me to help me to talk to my doc.I'm only 15 and I really want help, but every time I want to say something I stand back and don't say it because im afraid that everyone will know about my OCD. So does anyone have any advice to help me to do this? Thanks a lot!

Try letting him know the thoughts you are having.. dont actually say its because of the OCD, just let him know all the details of whats going on in your mind, Im sure he will listen.

Anxiety is a nasty thing and can totally shut you down when its rearing its ugly head.. Keep strong you can do it and you have lots of people here to talk too Tips on asking my doc about help for my OCD?

*HUGS* and Good Luck!

I simply told my physician, who has worked with me for years and helped me tremendously (he's not a T, by the way), that I was having trouble with obsessive thoughts. He adjusts my medication when it's a real problem for me.

Is this your general doc your going to or a psych? Im guessing general. Which just telling him how your feeling not always will have him come to the assumption your suffering from OCD. It would really be good if you could go to a Psychologist and talk about the things your having to deal with.

Also dont be emberrassed, im sure you dont want everyone in the world to know, is this something your keeping from your parents and close friends? A support group will help alot, and if the people close to you are there for a shoulder to lean on all the better. I dont suffer from OCD so I guess I cant comment on anything else but keep your head up and dont be afraid to speak out about it. Good Luck to you, we are all here to help as much as we can!
