I honestly dont even know why I am posting about this. I know its petty. I know it is but I am bothered by it so much.
I was going through the forum looking at posts and I was triggered by someone's "number of posts". When I saw it, I freaked out and now I am looking really stupid posting about it. ![]() |

If it affected you, there is no reason to feel stupid posting about it. It obviously upset you for some reason, and I hope you know the reason even tho we don't, and that your coping skills help you deal with it in a healthy way !

I love to read your posts ![]() Yes Kimmy, It was the sequence of numbers that really got to me. ![]() I went to Barnes and Noble and purchased a book and OCD and Anxiety Disorders. I needed reassurance ![]() Until I can start seeing this new therapist, I need to read and feel comforted that I am not a freak. |

I can relate to the numbers and number sequence thing as a sufferer of OCD. For a long time, I have been afraid to use the number 6 because in my mind, it is too close to the "mark of the beast". 3 and 7 are safe numbers because they are found in the Bible a lot. I have to tap my heel on the floor 3 times each night before crawling into bed and when I take my morning walk, I can go either one or three laps around the block but for some crazy reason, never two. If I end up taking two laps then I MUST take a final third lap just to "finish the job" and so that nothing "bad" will happen that day. I have other issues regarding numbers to but I can't remember them all right now.

Your right on with the # 6...AHHHHHHHHHHH I'm cringing. It was awful. there were several in a row and I too associate that # the same way you do and it makes me feel very afraid and paniky. I too have my safe #'s...4 being my safest, I avoid all numbers that the # 6 (cringe) creates, for example, 12, 18, 24 etc. I blink 4 times before i got to sleep at night, and when I worked, I had to sent my alarm and I would check and re-check more times then I can count. I always feared that I didnt set it right and even when I calmed my mind to the point where I thought it was right, 5 minutes later I would be up checking and rechecking and I was never able to convince myself that I did it right. I think that why I got so upset the other day when I saw this # (cringe) 4 times in a row then when I would look at the clock and it would end in that same # it just freaked me out. I am rambling, sorry. Thank you GG for understanding what I am saying and identifying with my feelings. |

It's like if I had to set my alarm clock to 6:00 so I could make it to work on time, I'd probably set it to 7:00 and end up getting fired. Ahhh...just can't win!.
