I had to write to two of my closest friends last night, about my depression. One in particular... what I had to say was challenging to her beliefs. She likes to see the world as anything-can-be-overcome with the power of the mind and good habits. But I'm facing chronic conditions, which I've tried my damnedest to beat on my own. It's just not possible, and I'm getting help.

But I'm having anxiety attacks over the fear I've alienated my friends. It's not, by any means, the first time... nor the worst.

I guess I just needed to vent. My heart is about to pound out of my chest!
Thanks for listening.

((((((((((Lacer Vita))))))))))) I'm really sorry you're feeling so anxious. I think you were very brave to talk honestly to your friends about your depression. But I'm sorry that one of your friends insists that it's possible for everyone to positive-think their way out of depression. Unfortunately some people who have never suffered from serious depression do believe that.

But I think a true friend will try and see it from another point of view, even if they don't necessarily understand it. And certainly your close friends should support your efforts to get better.

It's great you're getting professional help. Please don't let the reaction of this one friend make you doubt how important that is. You need to do what is right for you. And if one of your friends can't accept that, you still need to do what's right for you. I really hope your other friend is being supportive. And I hope we can offer you some support too ((((((((Lacer Vita))))))))))) You are doing the right thing by getting professional help!!

Good luck with your treatment and let us know how you're doing!

I'm pretty open about my problems, especially with friends and family, and in my experience they all come around eventually. They care about you and in the end, that's all that will matter.

I think you're doing great and being extremely brave!

Please keep letting us know how you're doing as I'd like to know and am here for you if you need anything!
