I have been waiting for a text book from B&N for 2 weeks. I paid for this book and it's a no show. I'm sending e-mails to B&M and the original sender and everyone is spinning me, not giving me a straight answer about my book or a refund. What else can I do? It feels like I am behind in this one class. This semister i am taking 6 classes, I don not want to worry about a book and my worst fear will soon arise. PRESENTATIONS.

Is there a B&N store you can go to in person? I would go straight to customer service, state that you are having an issue with an online order, and ask to speak to a supervisor. Ask where your book is in transit, and when you can expect it. If they can't answer you, or if the book will be arriving too late, then tell them you expect a full refund. You need your money back so you have the opportunity to order the book elsewhere and receive it in a timely fashion for your class.
It's a pain, but it helps a lot to speak to someone in person. It's harder to blow off an actual person in your store than an impersonal email. Good luck! |

The question would be who and how?
Whom did you buy the book off? Private seller or through an online /store like amazon. A store is easier to deal with... And how did you pay for it? As far as I know credit cards and PayPal have definitely protections as in you can get your money back through them (it can take ages). In the UK some bank cards have similar protections. Meanwhile would you be able to get the book from a library to start you off, or talk to your tutor about it? They are usually very helpful, especially when someone actually wants to do work.

Poorest customer service I've ever dealt with...each person was assuring me something completely different. I had my order shipped to one address, but it was sent to another, and they said they could not change it and that it would take days for the rectification..

If you have used a credit card you can " dispute the charge" as non receipt of merchandise ( its called a chargeback in banking terms ).....and get your money back.....
