The anxiety is too much...I feel like I'm completely falling apart now.

I can relate! But you can get thru this. It is an uphill climb, but when you get to the top of that hill, it will feel great! I can't wait till I get up there.
You can do it. We all are here to support you.

are you on any meds for your anxiety? i'm on colapin(sp?), i only take it when i feel i really need it and it's really helping. i've never taken meds for anxiety before this, only for depression. i'm not completely better, but it's making me capable of socializing.

All I'm on is Cymbalta...which does nothing for the anxiety!

Hi Lexi, I am sorry anxiety is kicking you around. You know I need to practice what I preach more but exercise helps with my anxiety. A good hike or swim. And sometimes when I am unable I rent a children's movie and just enjoy it. My daughter rented one last night, I think it was called IT, not sure but really cute and fun. Sometimes for me something as simple as playing a game of cards helps me to get out of that anxious place for a bit. The anxiety often stops me from playing the cards or anything else so it's a catch 22. Good luck.

Anxiety started coming back yesterday when I was at my dad's. My step-sister's bf came up the drive (chest pain) and my dad got a phone call and some girl was trying to set him up on a blind date (more chest pains). Will I never get any relief????

Lex,

How about going back to the basics? What I mean by that is when you feel the anxiety symptoms, chest pains, shortness or breath just remove yourself to a quiet area where you can surround yourself with comfortable things. I know that when I was at my worst I made a list of things that make me feel safe. When I would get anxious I would refer to that list and it helped me a great deal.

Also, breathing excersizes, focusing on something and the relaxing CD's are a great relief.

I have been there. I know what you are going through. Your not alone. Keep talking about it. We'll listen.

Huggles,

Jen

Jen, the only thing that really bring me any kind of comfort is being with my dad. I can't have him at my side forever...he is nearing his 60s. The only other thing is cats. Lots of them. So basically, I'd have to be at my dad's place because I'm not allowed pets in my apartment.
