I am severely anxious. Am in a sober house, been clean almost 6 months and have to move out(want to too) the first of May. Being clean is a huge change, and going out on my own is huge too. I have lived many years alone in the past, but never clean. I go to meetings, go to counseling, work, and do fine...so far. Anxiety has gotten much better since I quit using, but this next few weeks are going to be brutal. Since my fiancee passed away, self-medicating was the only thing I knew. Now I have to do it straight. Scary. Could use some support!

You really have your plate full, with everything including the passing away of your loved on. I hope you can take it one day at a time, without placing demands on yourself.

I don't blame you for feeling anxious, It sounds like life has worn you down recently. I have some thoughts to share with you that may help. Try displacing your anxiety into a hobby like painting, journaling your feelings, etc. Some other things that help in overcoming anxiety that I have found are cognitive restructuring (Adjusting your thinking patterns). Some other ideas that may help you move forward Would be to tell yourself positive affirmations daily as often as you need them, or relaxation training such as yoga Or controlled breathing. There is always a hotline out there you can call for further support and help if you need to. Don't forget to be patient with yourself, Someday this Will be useful to you as you grow in wisdom from your experiences

I am in a 12 step program (CoDependents Anonymous) and I have a wonderful sponsor who is there when I need her. She is a lifeline to sanity for me. I hope you have a good sponsor and some program friends. Use them.
