I finally got fed up and started looking for someone to talk to about my anxiety, depression, eating disorder etc. I found a councelor online and emailed her, she does sessions over the phone, and through email. She lives acroas the country from me. In my opinion, phone sessions are perfect because the anxiety level would be much lower than talking about my
Problems face to face with a stranger. Thing is, itll cost me 170 per one hour session. I could afford it, it would just be really tight. If I go through mental health in my city it would be very low cost, possibly free, but the issue there is that it's a verrry long wait. I've been waiting long enough, I nee to talk to someone now. What would you do?

Perhaps you could discuss the situation with counselor you found online, if you have not in your initial email to her. You should try this phone session as your needs are urgent.

If you are still on the waiting list, then stay on it. It's not the best arrangement as it is a compromise between budget and urgency of your needs.

You can always post here at PC forums and PM members for support or answers to your questions.

I agree with Optimize990h.

Are you also considering meds? If so, getting on a wait list for someone who could prescribe for anxiety, on top of a wait list for a talk therapist, wouldn't hurt to try.

You don't have to accept a prescription, right away, if uncertain.

I'm already on lamotrigine for depression and celexa for anxiety prescribed from my family dr. I'm thinking of going to the one over the phone for now but get on the list for the reduced cost/free one.
