For the past three days, I've been feeling anxious throughout the day up until bedtime. I keep getting these body zaps(?) and prickly feeling in my fingers, and my heart keeps beating fast and I'm having a hard time breathing.
Is it normal for it to last this long? Or could there be a completely different health problem that's causing this? I searched my symptoms on google and I read that people with diabetes tend to have these issues too. Now I'm terrified that I may have diabetes. I can't even go out to see a doctor so make sure that's not the case. Oh God. ![]() |

Everyone's anxiety lasts different lengths of time.
Seeing a doctor, to rule out everything physical, isn't a bad idea. As is, not doing so much research and self-diagnosis, I've been there, reading things, but usually after a diagnosis, and wow, nothing like adding more stress to an already stressed body and mind. You may even need to seek a specialist, that deals with anxiety. My experience with general practitioners, is that they don't usually delve into the emotional aspect of health, and focus, primarily on the physical. |

I can give you a sort of good news/bad news in regards to your symptoms: The good news is that you don't have to worry about diabetes, those symptoms are most likely anxiety. I hope you may find a little comfort is knowing that these fears are part of the anxiety disorder and are not realistic. Although anxiety sucks, being self aware of what anxiety does to you at least helps me banish thoughts of having that incurable, life-altering physical disease. Of course, the bad news is that, yes, anxiety can last all day like that.
![]() Don't get caught in the diabetes scare, it will make the symptoms worse. Focus on what is the real issue and don't convince yourself you have more issues to deal with. You're gonna be fine. ![]()

Mine is usually throughout the day and it varies. Some weeks can be better than others. It also depends on what I watch, eat, and do. The more time I have to think the worse I am.
