So, I have this fear of people hugging me. And coming near me. And touching me.
Yet, everyone says I am the most normal (well, I guess I could be called most adjusted) person they've ever met.

Little do they know that every single time they touch me I have a mini panic attack and my heart rate speeds to a million miles a minute and I have a hard time breathing. Quite a few of my asthma attacks are caused by this.

So, does anyone have any advice to keep these panic attacks to a minimum? And can anyone tell me how to avoid full blown panic attacks where I'm unable to function?
And most importantly, is anyone else able to hide their panic attacks and act like a functional human?

Deep breathing is the best I got. I don't understand what it is to function normally, so can't help you there... There are probably exercises you can do too.

I used to get really jumpy when touched, unexpectedly. Have you tried, therapy to get to the route cause of this?

I still have a touch, aversion, from anyone outside of those I trust to touch me.

I startle easily, and am single side deaf on the right side. Never have been able to hug or cuddle anyone but my children, and now grandchildren.

Touching is hard for me also.

No, I haven't told anyone because I didn't think it was that big of a deal.
