So I haven't taken Paxil for 2 days already, I just took it this morning, and I kinda felt depressed today, but no real withrawal effects. I was just wondering, how long does it take to remove it from your body if you stop taking it?

I know Paxil takes about 2-4 weeks to work (it's been working, I've been on it for about 6 weeks or so) but I was wondering, if I didn't take it for about a 3 days or a week, would I have to start all over for it to kick back in, meaning would it take another 2-4 weeks? Until I feel the effects once again?

You're fairly lucky you didn't experience any withdrawal symptoms. A lot of people experience flu like symptoms or these fun things called brain zaps. It's generally recommended that you tapper off your dose rather than just quitting cold turkey.

Just like the effects of Paxil slowly build, they also slowly wear off. Each day without it, as I understand it, causes your brain chemistry to slide ever closer to where it had been. Go back on Paxil again and the effects will again start to build.

I am sure you have your reasons helloworld, but I saw you were taking Alprazolam and now just stopped cold turkey Paxil but then starting it again? Was it a money thing? Stopping and starting an SSRI is not a good thing for the body, it causes all sorts of problems. At least for me.

It wasn't on purpose. I'd forget to take it.

I apologize, I didn't consider that as a possibility but I too have forgotten to take my meds, I understand. Two days isn't enough to ruin things, just retake it as soon as you remember 'cause the withdrawal symptoms can be bad.

Personal experience - don't cold turkey Paxil! I went PSYCHO - cried at rap songs, cried constantly, made promises I didn't remember, bipolar manic episodes (w/o being Bipolar), night terrors, hearing voices, sore body, trembling, unable to blink in tandem, uncontrolled bladder, unexplained bruising, and more. I was only off for two weeks! Talk to your doctor about reducing dosage to quit.
