I don't normally post in this forum but here it is...I have been feeling really anxious for some time now. I see the dr tomorrow for my physical and want to ask her for something for it. Any ideas on something that works? I hate taking meds but this waking up all hours of the night from anxiety is kicking my behind!! Not sure how much longer I can stand it without some help.

Bebop,

I have a prescription for Zanax that I can take as needed. It helps at certain times.

Love,

Explore it, don't numb it with meds. When you understand where it comes from you can begin taking steps to address the underlying issue(s) and getting rid of the anxiety instead of stuffing it.

Try meditation? You can find meditation information via Google and a beautiful meditation relaxation exercise that is free is on www.meditainment.com. It is called Secret Garden and the 20 minutes float by like 5 minutes. Other tapes I have are fun, relaxing, free the mind from worries, invite new awarenesses, encourage calm.

Good luck with your physical today!

Hey boppers ! Sorry about the anxiety ! You know I wouldnt wish that on anyone. Glad you got the Xanax if that has worked in the past. My mind is totally blank right now - but there is a "stop smoking" medication (Could it be Zyban???) that is the same thing as Wellbutrin. From what I remember with other folks - ins. paid for that one !

Hollar at me - I never know how to get in touch with you since you moved :-(. Miss u !

I was taking Xanax at night to help me sleep (had bad anxiety that kept me awake) for 17 yrs.--same dosage. But then I went through a manic stage where I wasn't sleeping despite the Xanax so I've been switched to Klonopin which I think is supposed to be longer-acting than Xanax. It is helping.--Suzy
