So, I would love to get a job, at a Kennel. But, I get so anxious even thinking about it. I even get scared just calling them, & asking if they are hiring. i haven't done that yet, because I am just so scared to. I get so anxious, & I will be worse, actually do the interview. Plus I will be really shy & anxious when I work there.

I don't know what to do.

It's hard overcoming shyness and anxiety, but I'm sure you've already found out that dogs love you just the way you are and in my experience people that are around dogs are mostly nice too. Hopefully, you'll find that working with dogs will build your confidence and you'll soon feel less self-conscious.

Are there any dog's homes or charities where you could do some volunteering? Starting off with voluntary work is a great way to build confidence and get you the experience you need when applying for jobs and doing interviews. If there is somewhere you can volunteer do you have a friend who could go with you (even if it is just for the first time) it is always good to have a little moral support.

Does your school have a careers service or counsellors to give you advice on applying for jobs (my school was rubbish, we had a cupboard with three leaflets, one on nursing, one on teaching and the other on office work - mind you that was about 1000 years ago so things may have changed), if so ask them about how to write a resume, what to expect in an interview, they might even be able to do mock interviews with you so that you can practice what you want to say.

You posted a question about what activities we do with our dogs, do you go to any training or agility classes with dogs? Asking someone at that kind of group to help you get the experience you need or to write you a reference might help.

Good luck

There are places to volunteer, but do you need to do anything before you volunteer? Even if you don't I still would be scared-to some extend.
Yes, they probably do, but guess what? Of course I am too scared to do that, too scared to go to guidance office to talk about a job, nothing personal. Stupid anxiety.

I have to have my mom call them, because I can't do it, I dial but I won't press call, I get too scared & turn it off.

This sucks, I did have Anxiety when I was younger... Maybe it went away? & came back? Maybe it was caused by depresion?

So... I might need to my interview today. I am really terrified, & my anxiety will get bad, what should I do?

I know this will be hard, but the best thing to do will be to say how nervous you are. Usually at interviews the first question you'll get asked is to say a little about yourself, so just say you're feeling a bit nervous - people like that cos it shows your taking it seriously. Also once people know your anxious they'll want to help. You've got over anxiety in the past you can do it today. Just breathe nice and slow and think of all those lovely dogs that are waiting for YOU to come and take care of them. Those doggies need you. Good luck.
