For those of you with generalized anxiety what time of day is your anxiety the worst? Is there a time of day when your anxiety decreases some?
Does anyone wake up panicky everyday? |

Mine is worse at night too. I think bc I have less time to still make my day everything I want it to be. In the am, I have so many options and opportunities to not mess up. In the evening I just get easily overwhelmed with what went wrong during the day.

In the morning I wake up and think "everything is awful, today is going to be the worst" which is not true. I think this even if I have a great day planned, so it can't be just about work, or whatever.
Night time anxiety makes sense too. So much day to think about. |

I usually wake up anxious or panicky. On bad days, I will wake up on the verge of hyperventilating for seemingly no reason.

I wake up in a panic almost every morning.
Panic at other times during the day is pretty much dependent on what's going on at the time.

Mine depends on the cycle... at first the mornings were awful and felt like dying... i had to drag myself every morning to go to work...and drive...things that were very helpful: breathing exercises and drinking water...
i read that due to biological reasons it's very common and normal to have this crazy anxiety rush the moment you wake up... and said that thinks that could work were having a little snack and drinking something.. i cannot try the eating part because if i eat so early in the morning i always throw up...so i just did the water thing... At the moment i'm ok on mornings but the anxiety is getting me now at nights... so far the only thing that kinda helps is doing my breathing exercises paired with nice choir music and praying to get to sleep soon... |

I'm honestly anxious most of the time during the day. One of the things my GAD makes me worry about the most is my studies and since I'm at university studying most days I'm also anxious all day most days (on days I'm not studying I pretty much always find something else to worry about). Anyway, my anxiety used to get even worse at nights and it's still a bit like that but nowadays I'm mostly really anxious all day every day.
And yes, I often wake up anxious. It's not uncommon for me to wake up and having to force myself to get out of bed to face the day even though I'm so anxious/depressed it hurts. |

I seem to have anxiety pretty much every waking moment - - at least how it's been working with this depressive episode for the past 8 months. I feel like I can finally let my guard done when I go lie in bed at about 5 p.m. for the day. I feel like the pressure is off.

Mid afternoon. I'm out of behavioral health therapy and home with a lot of time to think. In the mornings when I'm rushed.

My anxiety is so bad that I am 98% agoraphobic. I know how stupid and impossible that sounds, but so do crazy things that us Bipolars do. So... I found that I am able to wake up with an alarm, during the wee hours, about 5 or 5.30, before the sun is fully risen. I throw on some clothes and I can walk right out the door a couple of blocks to the coffee shop, and sit there and have coffee for about an hour, leaving in sunglasses with a cigarette. Then I become anxious to get inside, but it's easy to control. Then I wait until about 10.30 -11.45, and if I haven't taken 100mg of my generic seroquel by then, I will have an anxiety attack. I feel it coming on, my face burning, the burning behind my eyes, my jaws hurting, shaking, feeling like I want to pull all of my hair out, tear all of my clothes off, chest being crushed, dry mouth, clawing around the room for almost instant relief from 2 clonopins under the tongue, and getting the seroquel into me with whatever liquid is sitting around. I've found that now we're on standard time, the anxiety comes on earlier. I've got reverse SAD. Anyway, at any other time, I can't go outside alone. Only in the dark in the morning. Anxiety only decreases as it gets dark outside.

In the morning, it's shivering and sometimes heart palpitations when it's really bad. In the evening right when I get into bed it's the same thing. I have a right chest throughout the day.

Mine is morning and during the day more than it is at night I guess for me because its quieter and less pressure to have to go out and go to work. I struggle going to work every day and i dont have a high pressure job but having to go to town to do stuff yep thats when it starts to sky rocket
