I'm having so many panic attacks today. Watching tv and using my phone doesn't help. There's actually a lot of triggers on tv and online. What do you guys do to stay distracted and active?

Reading and sudoku. But the hard ones. Focus my mind in numbers calm me a little. The exercise help a little but not so much because my mind doesn't stop while I'm exercising.

I find that the only thing that fully distracts me is to immerse myself completely in some fictional world, whether it's a book, movie, TV show, whatever. It just has to be really, really engaging. Actually, crossword puzzles and things like that can help too, because they really occupy my thoughts and leave no room for obsessive racing thoughts. If it's more of a physical anxiety reaction as opposed to a mental anxiety, exercise can help, but it still has to be fun and mentally engaging (like, not going on a treadmill for an hour, but a zumba class or something. It's hard to actually do that because the idea of exercising gives me anxiety, but when I'm actually doing it, it helps.)

I feel like a distraction for anyone would be unique to them... But for me, a few ways to distract myself from panicking is by drawing/painting, singing, exercising or playing video games. I really hope you can find something to help you relax! Good luck!

I like cycling/bike riding. There are alot of positives. You are outside and in the sun. You are constantly moving and that helps. If you have trails. We have alot in Colorado, you can avoid cars and traffic=stress. Plus the exercise and the well being and fitness. That will help you in so many ways. Also I prefer cycling to jogging because you can go further, faster and see more. It is a type of exposure therapy.
One last thing, I used to have to take three buses to my pdoc. I can deal without the craziness. That is sometimes on the bus and pick your routes. Wherever you choose to go. It is just my way of getting help and relax my anxiety, runners high. That saying, some find jogging their thing that helps them. I do think some sort of cardio. helps reduce anxiety very effective and can be an acute help. People also find weight bearing exercises as their self-esteem booster and every one should do at least some amount of that. We all know that it helps prevent osteoporosis and in moderate amounts makes the muscles and body stronger!
