I havea disability hearing Thursday and I've worried so badly I'm vomiting and just sick. This isn't what I wanted for myself, but, I can no longer function in public. It's in downtown indy, I won't know anyone in the room and I don't even know my attorney. I'm terrified but I really need this and can't survive another decline. This is such a nightmare and I want to wake up. I only hope I can do it. The whole process is cruel in my opinion and very inconsistent as to who gets it and I find it hard to believe that I have a fair shot. Hope my lawyer is good. I don't want to do this.

I'm sorry it's so bad right now. I'll give some info based on my hearing. The hearings don't last very long and if you have an attorney then not much will be expected of you. Except to be there You may be asked a question or 3 but if you struggle you won't be pressed or harassed. I think it's very important that you're present and I suspect you've thought about not going... go The judge will likely be more open and understanding than whoever it was that made the denial decision at Social Security and put you in this position. The judge at my hearing seemed a little perplexed and irritated after looking at my case and asked for an explanation from the SS representative for why they denied my application. I hope you get a good judge too

Good luck, i am sure you will do fine, remember no one is expecting anything of you. All you need to do is turn up and they will take the lead.

When I read the thread title, I thought the topic would be something biblical. Anyway, it may feel that way to you!

Take someone with you, even if they have to wait in the hall during the hearing. Best wishes.

Just as there have been things to do before this day there are things that can/will have to be done after this day. Try to focus on life after so this event itself does not seem to long or large. Plan a lunch out for next Friday? :-) Any way you can make an appointment to meet the lawyer before so you and they can talk and you can get to know them a bit, what they expect, etc.?
