My dad is almost certainly going to ask me to make at least one phone call tonight or tomorrow (supposed to be arranging a lift with a couple of people I know from school), and I know I can't give him the answer I'd like to - "no, I don't want to do it, I can't!" - because his response to that sort of thing is always along the lines of "I'm not going to be able to do this sort of thing for you for much longer; you'll have to get used to it someday" or "you're old enough to do that by yourself now". But I don't feel old enough. Feel like a child And when we were skiing recently, once after I got my lift pass I was struggling to put it on, and started worrying (I'm going to get left behind, I'm holding up the queue...) - I ended up incapable of putting a sentence together, and dad had to put the pass on for me. I felt like I was about 3! Feel like a child How am I going to manage as an adult if I'm still acting like this only about 8 months away from becoming one? Feel like a child

For Rio,

I feel like a child myself too often, I do believe it's healthy to feel this way occasionally...after all- we were all once children!! Is there any reason why you picked this website to express yourself? Do you ever wonder about family therapy or individual therapy? That age when you're almost an adult is hard. Perhaps there are kind teachers to talk to at school?

Thanks for replying, Junerain. That is true, but I can't seem to shake the feeling that when I turn 18 I'm going to get a lot of responsibility thrown at me, and if I don't grow up fast I'm not going to be able to handle it. Feel like a child I picked this website because I don't find it easy actually talking about my feelings - writing them is much less difficult. (Which is why I don't think I'd be able to talk to any teachers at school, but thanks for the suggestion anyway. Feel like a child) I am in individual therapy, though - have been since November.
