Hello,

I have developed this habit of hitting myself on the chest with a fist when I feel anxious. I have even done it subconsciously because I will catch myself doing it in front of other people, and they have asked me about it. I think that part of the of the reason that when I feel high levels of anxiety, I feel this uneasiness; almost like tickling in my chest.

When I'm by myself I will hit myself on the head also.

If you have had a similar problem, what steps have you taken to resolve it?

Thanks

I may have gotten into fist fights with myself. If it did happen I would take a deep breath and hold it then tense every muscle in my body hold for 5 seconds then release and take a few more calming breaths filling my stomach first then my chest. Try like hell to change the thought.
