Do you feel anxious about not being anxious? Does that make sense to anybody or am I just losing my mind. My doctor gave me medicine for anxiety but I'm worried if I lose the anxiety all together I'll lose everything I might even lose my therapist. I'll lose all control. I feel so conflicted.

Yep I get it!

As bizarre and horrid as it is, it can sorta feel like losing a part of myself when things are absent (anxiety, depression, nightmares for me). I don't WANT them to be there, but it's really strange when none of them are.

And then I get worried about what will happen when they come back. When will it come back? What will trigger it? How overboard will it go? etc etc.

I'm getting better at shaking that off, but it certainly pops up!

it can be a difficult thing to cope with- when a part of you- depression, anxiety, what ever... when you don't feel it it can be difficult.

like you're an entirely diffrent person

it can feel like you are well, and you don't need the help/support of those around you

i am sure your therapist will understand

hugs

Yup, when I first started taking meds, I told my therapist "now I'm anxious because I'm not anxious." It's weird, anxiety was such a part of my life that I felt a bit off when it was no longer there. You adjust to it, though, and you realize how much better it feels to not always be anxious.

I feel anxious anticipating future anxiety...when I'm calm, I love the feeling, but suspect it's too good to last.
