So I don't actually think anything is poisoned, I know it's all irrational, but I can't stop from freaking out about it. For some reason I've gotten this fixation that my food is drugged with lsd. If there's anything off about it, I start freaking out. Like the other day I ate a sweet potato and it was slightly wet, a little different than the usual ooze that comes out, and I started thinking that someone that gathered the potatoes/someone at the grocery store injected lsd into the potato. It's stupid but I had an anxiety attack after I ate it.

Lately, it's been more than just food. I just took a bath and thought "what if all this water is actually liquid lsd".
Then for the next hour or so, i'm silently freaking out, waiting to start tripping balls.
This fixation has been destroying me. It doesn't help that I have an eating disorder I'm trying to overcome and this is just making it harder to eat.

I heard this myth that guys at concerts will sometimes go around and slap the back of people's necks with liquid lsd (they'd be wearting gloves obvs), so now at shows I'm constantly paranoid.

EDIT: Also, I worry a lot that I'm allergic to things. Like if I'm eating cashews, even though I've never had a problem with them, I think that they might suddenly trigger something and I'll die. Sigh.

Does anyone have any advice? I'm desperate. It feels like I can't touch or eat anything without being worried.

As a side note, I've done lsd about 5 times and magic mushroom a handful of times as well. I've always had a good time on acid but I'm careful about the set/setting.

This sounds to me like something that needs to be addressed with a therapist. Not that you can't talk with us about it but it sounds like its affecting your life negatively and will need prof help. Sorry can't help much more than that.

If it's interfering with your life to a great extent (or upsetting you a lot and also especially if you have an eating disorder in addition), it is probably a good idea to look into getting a therapist if you haven't already done that.

But, also, have you tried explaining to yourself why your thoughts are "irrational" or "paranoid"? That could possibly help.

Can you distract yourself while you eat? Like read a book or watch a funny TV show or something? That might help if you are really struggling to get calories or something, but Keyslost's suggestion is probably the most effective, sustainable way to address these things.

Aaahhhh now I feel like I'm going insane or something. Doesn't everyone's anxiety effect their daily life to some degree? Otherwise they wouldnt be posting here.
I don't want to see a therapist because they've always just been a waste of money in the past.
Is this really that uncommon?
And yes, I think my brain might be a little messed up right now unfortunately.

Oh, I didn't mean you are insane or that what you are going through is completely out of the ordinary, at all! It just seems like what's happening upsets you, so talking to someone about it would probably help a lot. I think everyone has anxiety now and then, but some of us have it a lot more frequently and severely than others. Maybe look for a psychologist who has experience with anxiety and OCD or similar things. I'm not sure what kind of therapist you've seen in the past, but there can be huge differences based on education, experience, interests, and also just personalities.

I think you have this specific ocd thoughts because of taking drugs.. from my own experience I had a person in family who died because of meds overdose and I'm also paranoid that in my food, drinks, there are meds everywhere. I can't even take simple vitamins without thinking it could kill me. asking my mom if there's nothing in food, if it is right med etc helps a bit. you could ask someone from family or friends if there's no lsd in wather etc too. and in your place I would never ever try any lsd, acid anymore, drugs can **** up mind a lot.

I had a similar experience from doing certain substances...what you could do is compare the odds of people putting lsd in your food to other extremely unlikely things that your not worried about. For instance sharks growing feet and coming on to land and eating you in your sleep. Your not concerned about that right? Lol. Then why are you concerned about people putting acid in your food? Theyre both equally as unheard of imo haha
