Hi all!
So, I finished university but I still have an important exam to take in a couple months. It's important because I need it to can start working in the field I like. Also, if I don't pass it I'll have to wait months before I can take it again. So it's very stressful. Though I still have a quite long time, I'm already feeling anxious while studying. It happened also in past, for other exams or even normal school tests (not always though). When I study I already feel anxious, because I think about the exam. Today I downloaded the documentation that I'll need to can take this exam and also this gave me quite high anxiety. The problem is, this 'studying anxiety' makes it difficult for me to focus on study. It makes me anxious, so it's like if my mind refused it; I keep getting distracted. I somehow can study however, but using more time than I would need without this distraction, and with much more unpleasant anxiety. Does anyone have suggestions for me? Thanks and hugs to everybody ![]()

Hi Bea!
I used to suffer with the same type of anxiety through studying for important exams. First of all, you said if you don't do well, you have to wait to take it again. Which means you CAN take it again! So don't worry about failing, don't worry about what ifs. I used to find it useful to have a hot lavender bath, put all kinds of media away, no phones no music. Work in silence it's peaceful! Also in shops look for "RescueRemedy Drops" they are a natural calming remedy that I keep in my bag permanently. Really helps me!! All the best for your exam and the rest of your study period! Don't panic! ❤️ Astro. ![]() ![]() |

There's an app called Calm that has many tranquil scenes with related sounds. It has a 10 minute Daily Calm meditation that focuses on your breathing and meditations for other things like anxiety. I've had like 165 sessions now and I find that I can focus on my breathing now in other situations and calm myself down. That might be helpful. Good luck with your exam. Sending big hugs.

I found I needed to just stop sometimes because I wasn't studying usefully. I was just staring at the pages, mentally and physically fatiguing myself while getting almost no useful work done. |

Thanks AstroGalaxy and CepheidVariable. Sorry AstroGalaxy if I didn't answer before but for some reason I didn't see the post!
I used to take RescueRemedy in past and it seemed to help, but then it somehow stopped working... It's true that sometimes it would be more useful to take a break, but the problem is that I find it difficult to go back to study then, because of anxiety and troubles focusing... I wonder if I should work more on relaxing or on focusing... However, thanks to all who comment here, it's nice feeling cared about ![]()
