...Meaning: if i am alone somewhere, i need at least a tiny illumination in the room to sleep (unless it is impossible for any reason like no electricity)

Now, for the most difficult part: i am afraid of "ghosts"
Right. Or whatever.
The house is closed, i have window bars for every window and curtains, and it is very unlikely for someone to enter the house
I live in a city, not in the woods

But I am still keeping a light on
I had to choose specific light bulbs to reduce consumption

I have to say, i was able rarely to sleep alone in total darkness on rare occasions when I was more relaxed, but normally i am... "afraid" and wake up again to switch on a small light

I had experiences of sleepy paralisys that were prolly worst with light on

If everyone else has this and wants to share any thought, i'd like to read it

I too don't like the dark. For some reason, I associate it with bad or evil things. It could be all those horror movies I watched as a kid, but now as an adult, I don't like PITCH blackness. My bedroom is slight illuminated by what I call "security lights" outside. They are actually too bright, so I have dark curtains over the blinds. I can't sleep in a room that looks like daytime or like the sun is coming up.

Also, I NEVER go out at night as I have no one to be with. Forget driving too! Those bright lights late model cars have BLIND me, and my night vision sucks---unlike a cat which is my avatar, I know. I won't even take the trash out to the dumpster (in the alley) at night! That can wait! But I do know people in this building do it. Even thought it's well-lit back there, I still wouldn't feel safe but I don't feel completely safe anywhere now.

I'm in a city too and I lock up everything like Fort Knox at night, even when it's hot. I don't want windows open when I'm vulnerable and asleep. It's tempting to leave the sliding door open on hot nights but I'm afraid somebody will climb in.

Also I'm not a "night person" at all and now that it gets dark much faster, it's depressing.

I don't know what sleep paralysis is? I could look it up but it's probably too "technical" or too much medical jargon.

I have experienced sleep paralysis. It’s pretty often to suffer one or more of these episodes. It said it often happens when we are going through a stress period.

When we are sleeping there’s only an area of the brain working. The one that controls our breath, beats, etc. It seems A sleep paralysis happens when we have some more areas of the brain already functioning as when we are awake but the mechanism which allows us movement is not active yet. Something like that.

I’m sorry you are having these fears. It has to be a daily suffering.
I wanted to ask you a question: Are you much into the upper natural stuff currently?

Sorry. I didn’t choose the right term.
I wanted to ask you if you spend currently lot of time into supernatural stuff.
I asked you because I have a friend who is always very concerned with not being alone at home but at the same time, she’s been in contact with topics related to spirits and things like that.
It might affect some people.
I only wanted to make sure this is not your case.
