Not sure why, but I had an attack today while I was at Walmart after a dentist appointment... I felt like some one (or some thing) was watching me and then I started to hear people (voices) that sounded like many different family members... I was stressed and freaked out by the time I finished at Walmart that I had to go straight home.
... this episode cut my other shopping plans out.

I took a three hour nap after eating some lunch... I am fine now, safe at home.

Hmm, that's interesting, as it doesn't sound like a panic attack. Do you have Panic Disorder? Has this happened before?

Yes.... this has happened to me before in the past, but I had been doing good for about a year... and I have no ideal as to WHY this time around... and I hate the feeling... I do feel that it was anxiety based.

It probably is anxiety based, that sounds certain.
Are you in therapy Rhapsody? If so, have you discussed this with your therapist? What do they say?

Haven't talked to any one about it yet in RL since it just happened today.
I do have DID & PTSD so it could always be related there.

I mean has it happened in the past and have you addressed past attacks like this with your T?

Oh Yes.... and we (my T and I) had worked through them, guess I might have to go at it again if it keeps happening... past reason for episodes were due to old unhealed wounds.

So are they panic attacks then, or some other anxiety reaction?
I've never heard of hearing voices during panic attacks, that's why I ask.

What helped when your T and you dealt with this before?

I have Panic Disorder, and have been clear of panic attacks for five months or more. Sometimes the trigger isn't obvious or otherwise apparent. I'd say definitely talk about this with your T, that way you don't reinforce them.

I have DID & PTSD so the voice part could of been caused by one of those disorders being resonated when the anxiety attack started.

I heard the voices before during and after.... but its good to know that others have experienced this as well.

I can deal with it over all yet it did unnerve me when it happened - I am better now.
