Plain & simple...I don't fare well when I have to be away from the house for more than 4 hours. It's not too bad if it's just one person that I have to be around...2 at the most.

Friday is our normal day for going to town to get groceries. Well dad promised my step sister (who I have no tolerance for since she likes to beat on her kids and is very aggressive) he'd stop in on Friday to see her for a bit. Dad also bowls on Fridays. So basically I have to go to my step sis's, then go to the bowling alley for an uncertain period of time, and then go grocery shopping afterwards!!! That's a good 6 hours!

I'm not happy and usually when I go to the bowling alley I have panic attacks because of all the people that are always there. Even though I'm still with a family member, it's just too long to be away from the house...at least for me it is.

Anyway your dad can drop you off at the grocery store between your sister's and the bowling alley and then you can take a cab home or something?

I'm on my way to the grocery store now; anything I can pick up for you Going out for more than 2 hours???? It's right down the street and has my pharmacy and everything. Very convenient and quick.

I don't necessarily mind the "time" out but some of the activities can wear on me so I wish I were home. Maybe you can find some activities/places near the bowling alley that would be easier/better for you (library?) to wait at.

I'm in the country...so we don't really have taxi's...and the bowling alley isn't really near anything...*sighs*

I only wish I had meds for my anxiety!!! I had seen my pdoc March and the doctor wouldn't give me anything for it. So I'm trying to do everything without meds and all...

I'd make friends with a worker at the bowling alley or the snackbar or something so you can hang with them. That or bring a book and sit in the car to wait most of the time? Make a kit of things to do or blanket/pillow and nap, etc.

Well I usually bring a puzzle book and dad's bowling partner likes me...but I still panic. It's just when they get a big rush of younger people (college kids) where I really start to panic.

this idea might not help you but it helps me...what about taking an mp3 or something and just lose yourself in some music for a little bit if you start to feel too panicked?

Well I did ok...there were a few times when I felt really scared but I kept doing my puzzle book and journaling. I even wrote a poem. So even though I was really scared, I did make it through it.

Good for you for making it ok, and writing a poem. Sometimes it's good to do stuff that's scary, becasue then it gets less scary with time.
