i recently went to answers to ask what i mostlikly associate with and some i got bipolar and someone asked if i screened for ADD/ADHD, i said no and got curious so i went to the little screening test on the site, and answered everything, then i started noticing how i can't red any thing unless its interesting, how i'm always sad but then up and smiling and that i cant remember anything. and when i was done i thought i would get maybe a 12 at least but i got a 93 with "You appear to be suffering from severe attention and concentration difficulties often associated with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder" and i started thinking about what i do when i read, or what happened earlier that day, how i could follow on in class when they were reading and doing examples on active and passive sentences i had to keep asking my friend what was going on and got almost all of it wrong, or when my mom tells me how important she thinks i am.
i even asked her about ADD and she said yeah i had it because of how distracted i am, but then she said she had it, so i'm confused and think she was joking, just like with the bipolar thing, but do you think i have it enough to contact my doctor?

Remember, ADHD is not all bad, it just means you think differently. There are so many people with ADHD... They think Da Vinci had it, and they know Kurt Kobain had it. People with ADHD think more creatively than people without ADHD. It isn't bad always being hyper or being full of energy. If you are easily distracted that means you can more easily stop listening to somebody.

I know some of this probably sounds dumb, but I've lived to find all the positive things about having ADHD. If you think of it like that you can realize living with ADHD isn't really all that bad.

have you just started seeing a doctor?
you should tell him about the test and tell him/her your score and your worries about your score and what was on the test and why you think you have it. and hope that your doctor cares enough about your opinion to look further into it.

you made me curious i looked it up i tried to read what they were saying about the compulsions and the ritual obsessions, and denied the possiblity.........now i'm just starting to think these tests are rigged i got 22. thats ten pionts high than the actual range to severe. i guess thats something new i should bring up this wednesday in therapy.
i always get these impulses to hurt someone., and to randomly jurk around like a robot.
i can so see how that can make you mad.

Though I'm already quite sure I have ADD/ADHD, I took the test and scored an 81 .

Problem is, I've brought it up to my doctor MANY times over the last two years, and she still just seems to be ignoring me. It's actually kinda really pissing me off, cause it's been affecting my school work a LOT and could have affected which colleges I could have gotten into (I'm surprised I got into one at all!).

Any ideas on how to get it through her thick, stubborn skull to listen to me???? All I'm asking for is a freakin' screening test, and it's not like I'm just wanting drugs! It's one thing to go to a new doctor, exaggerate your condition, and come out with a prescription drug to abuse or sell; it's a totally different thing to honestly complain about your symptoms for TWO F***ING YEARS and not even get a damn screening test! Sorry, I'm not happy with my pdoc right now.

i agree with you, your pdoc should take what you say into consideration, and she/he should screen you instead of ignoring you.
try going to another pdoc, a free one that knows more on ADD maybe that person would screen you and pass that information to your doc.
my doc didn't say much she just said i may have ADD but has said anything since, now she's asking me my feelings and what i do thats similar to bipolar that pisses me off, but its mostly my fault for not saying my true feelings.
another thing is that you doc may think your being desperate. try to tell her/him what you think you should do even though they dont think so. wish you luck
