For me it is more along the lines of noticing every tiny mistake and then putting myself down for it and apologizing to anyone who will listen. It's very tiresome to me and everyone else but I seem unable to stop doing it. All I end up doing is thinking about all my mistakes all day and feeling terrible about myself. In fact, I think I am changing my answer to the OP to the paragraph above. I'm in the midst of a mixed/mostly depressed cycle right now so it's related to that too but I don't really know the actual source of this behaviour.

![]() ![]() So in a way you are your worst enemy, you are attacking yourself and beating yourself up about any tiny error. On the flip side to this though you're a perfectionist and that in itself is an important trait cause you will be successful with that frame of mind. I hope you're okay maybe instead of thinking of all the negative things think of all the positives, it may lift your spirits. Thank you again ![]() Claire ![]() |

i think i have this disorder, but was never diagnosed with it. i also have schitzophrenia, but i can't seem to concentrate on anything for more than a few minutes. maybe i just need something i'm interested in, i do wish i could work but it is too much for my mind. i have worked in the past, loved working, it was fulfilling. i feel for you.

![]() A lot of people who have ADHD that get diagnosed later on in life feel like they have lost so many opportunities and wasted so much of their life. Be careful. Thank you again ![]() Claire ![]() |

Losing everything all the time. The sleepless nights. Can't finish a simple task. Hard to focus on what the teacher is saying.

The forgetfulness. Literally talking mid sentence and then forgetting what I was talking about. Also- the impact it has had on my social life.

![]() I think people should be more aware of mental illness and i know people with ADHD and seeing what they go through when they can't help it breaks my heart i wish society was easier on people who have their own struggles. I have an anxiety disorder and have struggled with it over the years so i don't want other people to feel the way i did. Claire ![]() |

I only have ADD but the hardest part is chores. I hate doing things I "hate" doing. I turn fearful of chores since they are overwhelming and I don't have enough of an autopilot to carry them out, having to think about what I do all the time really drains me. And being drained is mentally hurtful so then I turn even more chore phobic.

My impulsive behavior. Although I have gotten a lot better at not interrupting people. I still say a lot of inappropriate things at times though. Many subjects that bother other people, often do not bother me.
I also hate the fact that I appear to be a total space cadet and walk into things, because my mind is hyperfocused on something other than my surroundings. I have A LOT OF BRUISES! Lol! Thankfully, I have quick reflexes to prevent me from falling, if I were to trip over something. If I didn't, I would have a lot of broken bones to go with those ugly hematomas. I hate the feeling of always being in a hurry. It's also dangerous when driving. I can't stand sitting in the car for so long.

For me, it is a combination:
Struggling to motivate myself to do (and focus on) things that do not have immediate reward Constant Disorganization and Impulsive Decision Making Stress Tolerance issues and strong difficulty regulating my emotions. Those are the issues that bother me the most. |

![]() Anything i'm not fully sure of i will delay it or maybe never even attempt to do it. I feel for you it must be a nightmare, i don't know if this is a suitable idea or not but would you be able to call a cleaner/maid? That way someone else is taking care of the chores leaving you to carry on without stress. Maybe therapy or coaching may help too, i have anxiety pretty bad i had panic attacks going out my house but i worked on it and confronted it head on, thought of ways to handle it when it gets too much and put routines in place to be able to have certainty. Maybe if you get used to doing them on a saturday or sunday it might be easier even if you just put some dishes in a sink its a huge improvement. I really feel for you thank you for sharing that ![]() Claire ![]() |

I don't have a diagnosis, either (and it seems unlikely that I'll get one), so I don't know if this is the number one thing or not. I do know that the loss of time every single day is terrible. I feel like I lose a third of my entire life to this thing. As you said, I can't turn back the clock, I can't make different choices, I can't reach out for help sooner or learn better skills earlier in life. It's frustrating and saddening. Thank you for having the courage to speak up. |
