I take a summer course and it involves a lot of group work. I realised how hard it can be to participate in group discussions because Of ADD. For example today I had a group discussion and I found that it hard for me to keep up with the conversation. As it goies on I feel more and more frustrated and angry about it. E erybody is talking and doing fine but my energy is invested in trying to keep up. When I try to talk it feels like everyone is ignoring me because they dont' acknowledge wht I said and keep going. So Im sure a lot is due to assertiveness problems as well. I was wondering if anyone has this problem in groups in geneeral. Because I know this spills over into my social life too. thx

i haven't been diagnosed with ADD but i have a lot of symptoms. I am taking a summer class Hummanities actually and we do alot of group work. It is so hard cause one the questions seem like they are not in english but then when we start to talk i always find myself getting distracted by listening in on the other groups and looking out the window at the bird that sits on the ledge of the window or looking out the door at people walking in the hallway. Just thought i would let you know you are not alone!!

Wow
I am going for my graduate degree and have similar issues. I am 33 and married with two kids so you would think I could handle things better. I have spent many nights hysterical crying because I couldn't deal with the people in the group who gave me no credence. You are not alone.
