I am coming up to the end of my contract. There is a possibility of me being able to continue here next year and I really REALLY want to but I won't know for at a least a few more weeks.

In the meantime I am paranoid as hell. People thank me constantly (including my boss) and say they are really happy with me but I don't know what they think of me. I know I'm weird and I know this workplace is weird accepting but it's my first full-time job and I worry when they don't talk, or I get excited =/

AS6855, Is it a government contract? It's tough waiting a few weeks to find out if you still have a job. I wish you the very best!

School. I am filling in for someone who took a year leave but she went to America and got married so noone knows if she is coming back and I have known all along that it was only a year but after my first review I got hope that they could rehire me if she didn't come back.
It's just that there are a few weeks left in the waiting (hopefully).

The thing that has me most concerned is that I am not entirely sure EXACTLY when I will know, but the best time to apply for education jobs is September.

AS6855, The waiting gaming. I guess you are applying for other education jobs in case this one will no longer be available?

No *bluuush* I don't have confidence with looking for work, even though I know my experience will basically guarantee me a job because the place I'm working has a fantastic reputation....I just don't know what I would say about my availability. And what if they offered me the job and I got told I could continue here? Would turning down the job cut off that avenue for me in the future? There are only so many secondary school in reach of where I live.

The worst thing is that I never know what to disclose in interviews. I told someone once that I'm autistic and she told me I wouldn't be able to interact with the kids (even though I had been doing industry placement there for the last 2 months and was recommended by her own employee). I don't know if I hide it well and I worry that they might figure it out and then I will have lied...aaargh.
