I've noticed that I have a way of ordering and storing my personal possessions that, while seemingly haphazard, is such that I know the location of virtually every one of my things at any given time. If this system I used is disrupted (ie my mother moves or takes away something) then I end up being very irritable. Is this trait something related to Asperger's or just me?

I am not sure if it is a trait of Aperger's but I know many other people with dx's different than that that are similarly upset.
You are not alone.

My brother is also an aspie with a strong OCD side. I am a bit organizational and have strong preferences where I keep things. He is really bad though. If you put the dishes away, and they are not *exactly* organized his way, he flips out. Not just mugs on this side, glasses over here. The mug from vacation 20 years ago has to be on top of the Christmas mug from Uncle Don, etc. I am more flexible. He drives me insane though. Well, I don't think multiple OCD people can actually live together without struggle? I mean, if everyone wants things a certain way, it will be tough.

I've always needed to have a place for everything and everything in its place. Not certain if that's due to the Asperger's or not? Oddly, I've been accused most of my adult life (by m-i-l, DH, & a few others) of being an insufferable slob. Only began realizing I was not either a few years ago! Crazy, huh? But that's not the only false thing I believed about myself, so I guess that goes along with the abuse and the ability of others to make me believe things about myself because I was so "out of it" and oblivious, (or whatever.)
If it is your stuff & it makes you feel better having it organized a certain way, then it's up to others to leave your stuff be! JMOH.
