Hi everyone, I have a clothes shopping problem and my way of dealing with it is not going into clothing stores, shopping online etc. etc.. Yesterday I spent the day with a girlfriend and we made the mistake of going into a clothing store.....I know better, she knows better and I really, really wish we didn't go in, because I found a pair of True Religion jeans that I LOVE! I tried them on and love the way they fit.

I didn't purchase them yesterday, Yay! But I can't stop thinking about them. I just need some support resisting the urge to buy them. I have lost 10 pounds recently and am hoping that the weight loss continues, so I can get back to or close to my pre-medication weight. I would rather save the money for when I really need new clothes or spend it on a necessity (I need a transmission flush on my car BORING!) I also have a consolidation loan that I had to take out because of my spending problem and my payments each month are $1300.00, so I really shouldn't spend any extra money....

Just needed some support to put things into perspective that I do not need to buy the jeans and should save the money.....Thanks everyone!

Blue, you just said it right there in your post - that you would rather save the money for when you really need new clothes or spend it on a necessity. You had a temptation, but the good news is that you didn't spend anything so give yourself some much deserved props. Keep fighting the temptation because you need to save some money, and put sticky notes all around your house to help remind you of your money saving goal.

Do you NEED the jeans? If you Need them do you need them more than transmission fluids? If you don't maintain your car you may end up later paying more for fixing the car than if you maintained. This is the reasonable way to approach it. But I have a shopping problem too and if we were reasonable we wouldn't have this problem. But sometimes hearing it from somebody with the same problem helps. Hard as it is try to use your rationale mind.

Yoda, No I never need clothes. I have a lot of clothes already and these jeans are $285.

Cybermember, great advice. I had done that with my exercise goal and it works for me. Thanks!

blueoctober you already made it through the hardest part. . .walking out of the store without the jeans. You have it in your head that you want to save money and you are losing weight so look forward to those skinny jeans and know you have to save for them.
