Hi barr; I find that having a unorganized home, office, etc. can trigger anxiety for me, so I can feel your pain! Have you had an open and honest conversation with your wife regarding how you feel? You may even want to consider couples counseling.

I'm with Blue October on this one. I can't be in clutter. It stresses me out too much. Can you go through the stuff and clean it up and get rid of things that are not needed?

i've just taken over another person's portfolio at work, and she handed me a whole pile of pieces of paper, as well as numerous files. I've tried to sift through it and throw away as much as possible, but there's so much confusion-it's hard. But i can totally empathise with wanting as little clutter as possible. I agree you need to speak to her.

thank you for your suggestion i have tried to talk with her about it but our talks become heated and are not worth a crap it comes back to my bipolar and i should just deal with her clutter.

That would hurt to have a partner blame any concern I had on my diagnosis. Perhaps couples counseling would help?

If you have been a "selfish jerk" in the past and it wasn't your intention to behave that way I would rather my partner own up to that behavior and make an effort to change the habit and/or seek out professional help etc.
