It is 1:30 am and I had been in bed since 11pm and still not sleeping. Still having suicidal thoughts and wanting to talk to someone so I called the national suicide hotline. There is an automated menu -- You have called the .... press one if ..... Stay on the line to be routed to a crisis line near you... I hung up. If I wanted to talk to someone near me I would have called them. My reason for calling the national hotline was so I wouldn't have to call the crisis line here that is based in the hospital I just got out of. That doesn't seem to be an option any more.

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time and that the crisis line wasn't helpful. These thoughts are horrible, but they do pass, just bear with them and post some more on here if that is helpful. Thinking of you - let us know how you are SD

I know it's especially hard when you can't sleep and having thoughts of suicide. When you're awake and everyone else is asleep it seems especially lonesome.
I find it helpful on nights like those to write; either in a journal, a poem, or a letter. It doesn't even have to make sense, just so you are getting your thoughts out. It does get better. Keeping you in my thoughts
