Well, after being on different antidepressants for almost twenty years, I am finally coming off of the last one(I have Bipolar II and they make me cycle).
Was able to come off the Lexapro in early June(that was a bit rough) and my doctor was slowly titrating me off of the Pristiq. I have been off it completely for four days - yah! I read on the internet that it can be one of the harder ones to come off of because it has a shorter half-life. I am going through some withdrawal - the ringing in the ears/headaches/vertigo symptoms seem to be the worst. Anyone else ever experience this? If so, how long until you felt better? Thanks so much! ![]() |

I was able to come off of pristiq pretty easily. It may take a couple of weeks for it to all get out of your system.

Thanks - it's been a rough couple of days but I think I can do it - don't want my doc to put me on anything to help with the withdrawal and he doesn't want to,either. Hardest part is struggling to sleep at night. Keeping my fingers crosses!

Though I've never been on an anti-depressant, I've been on Gabapentin/Neurontin for my nerve pain & had to go through similar symptoms with withdrawal. Flashing in front of my eyes, vertigo, nausea, headaches, tinnitus... Other than the flashing, I usually go through those things anyway! But it can feel crippling when it's related to withdrawal. Mine went away in a couple of days, but I wasn't on it as long. I hope you feel better soon!!

Pristiq is a concentrated form of Effexor and Effexor is a ***** to try to get off of, with so many withdrawal symptoms.
I really hope you can get off of it without any serious withdrawals.
