Right the title for that was meant to be,
ILL OR REACTION TO LACTIMAL..
But thats a prime example of the types of things happening to me right now.

I'm not sure whats a result of Lactimal, what is just a random phase or whether i'm physically ill?

1. I cant remember a bloody thing and i keep writing and saying the wrong words, for instance, cash instead of cheque, salad instead of salmon.. My memory is top notch, we're talking, autistic spectrum, photographic memory. You tell me an event and i can give you the date it happened. I forgot my PIN number the other day which i have had for 5 years!

2. I need to pee all the time, literally i will go to the loo before bed, then within half an hour, before i've had chance to go to sleep i need to get up and go again.

3. The most worrying thing, i fell over today, i just went dizzy then next thing i know i was on the floor.

4. I have no focus or direction, i cant seem to get on top of things, i'm a lot happier, but have no control, i feel like i'm just living and doing stuff but not realising what i'm doing. Really hard to explain, i just feel a bit simple, i suppose.

Anyway, i'm really worried about the falling over bit, because i was just about to cross a road, i burst into tears as soon as it happened and felt so stupid. i've cut my knees and my hands as well!

When I started on lamactil I had a really manic period, and I actually wrote a novel, of all things, in the space of three weeks. (I'm not saying it was any good.) I was really, really cheerful, but very dizzy, and often felt, how can I put it, drunk. There was a scare when I thought I was getting the rash, but it was a revisit of shingles. Apart from that, lamactil turned out to be good. (Six weeks on, it started working as it should.) All I would say is be careful, and keep an eye on yourself, because everyone reacts differently.

When I was on Lamictal, my sister couldn't understand anything I was talking about. She told me that I was very confused and so did my husband.

I then got the physical symptoms, swollen lymph nodes, sore throat and then about 4 days later, I got a rash and had to go off of it.

When I had your symptoms I was on a toxic dose of lamictal. They disappeared when I cut the dose in half.

I'm only on 100mg, and will be going up to 200, i dont have any physical symptoms, i havent felt sick or anything.
The thing is they feel like they are REALLY helping stabilise my mood, especially since the dose has been upped.
Will the side effect lessen up once i have been on it for a while?

Yes. Though I don't know if it is attributable to Lamictal or not. I couldn't (ever) tell you the dates of anything (I have no sense of time), but soooo much on the mixing up words... thinking of something that starts with the same letter or rhymes or...

The rest of it, not so much. BUT. When I was taking the same dose I am now, but in one dose, I had dizziness and very disconcerting vision problems -- couldn't focus or something... it's hard to describe. Remember being on the phone and someone giving a phone number, and even though I was writing it big, I couldn't see it right and had to have her repeat it because it was just really wonky looking. As soon as I split it into half am and half pm, this stopped.

Response to #1- I have been on Lamictal for about 8 weeks now. It has worked very well for me, however, I have an awful memory these days!! It was getting bad but now it is so much worse!

Response to #2- I thought I was the only one and it was just because my mouth was so dry and I was drinking so much water-

Response to #4- Thank you for saying this!! I have been having such a hard time describing that feeling, especially to T. It is such a bizarre feeling, isn't it?

number four.
I would describe it as the emotion part of my brain working fine, the part that controls my movement working fine, but the part that makes the decisions and thinks isnt telling the other two what its up to, so they're just following blindly!
Haha, dont think that makes any sense.
Feels like i'm on drugs. Well i am i suppose.
