My father is in the hospital dying. My mom won't visit him because of her anxiety but the one time she did, it upset my dad more than being alone.

I started school today and I just don't know how I am going to make it through the semester. I can DO the work required. But I feel my duty is to be with my dad, as he goes from life to death. This is a real burden and stress.

I know some of you have been through this. Sleeping is a real issue, and driving back and forth to the hospital. My dad was a strong man, emotionally and physically, and I am struggling watching him fail.

Thanks for listening, and any prayers or kind thoughts would be appreciated.

I'll be wishing the best for your father, as well as your ability to cope with all of the stresses you have been presented with. Take care of yourself-- I'm sure your dad wouldn't rest so well knowing you were struggling so much. Be well.

I'm so sorry about your dad. I went through that about 15 years ago. I lived in a different state and the traveling back & forth added to the stress. When I look back now at that time, it wasn't the amount of time that I was able to be there that mattered but the things we talked about, sitting holding his hand watching Forest Gump & seeing my dad laugh, and telling him how grateful I was to have him as my dad. Hugs to you

Sophia, I think I have shared with you about my mom and dad. Watching them die 3-1/2 months apart was the most difficult thing to go through.

My heart goes out to you. It honestly does. It is so draining on you to watch your parents sick and dying. One thing I want to tell you that if your dad is suffering, a great sadness, but relief will come to you when it happens. He will always be your dad no matter what and that's the most difficult thing to feel. I miss my parents til this day, but know they are in a better place.

My prayers are going out to you during this time and always.

Luv ya!

Thanks to everyone. It means more than you could ever know to know that I am not alone in this struggle.
