I was wondering if anyone experiences the up and down and in between of bipolar feeling that everyday or every couple days? I guess its rapid cycling? So your mood is constatantly changing on you even several times a day in one day?

If so, do you have it under control or not? If you do what worked for you?

I have mixed and rapid cycling. I have been up and down at the same time. Today was not a very good day for me. I had lots of energy but could not stop crying. I usually have about two changes in mood per day. I am trying to find a pdoc that will do something about it. I am attempting to see a pdoc that deals in bipolar but the waiting list is three months. I guess no one who does not suffer from this knows how dire this situation is.
Right now, the only way I can control it is to completely isolate myself, which isn't good, but it's all I can do.

Oh, trying to Maintain...Im so sorry....Maybe if you call the Pdoc and explain how urgent it is they can squeeze you in?
I too have varying moods that switch almost everyday. Its exhauting!
I hope you can get seen sooner I know when I going throuh that, I too just want to isolate myself. Just lay in my room and not talk to anyone which isnt healthy....

I saw a new pdoc on monday and he prescribed me emsam patch (for depression) and Lithium (for stabilization of moods) hopefully this will be the winning combo, but its too early to tell yet.

((hugs))

I find it really hard to keep track of my moods (even using the mood tracker on here) or see any pattern, but yeah, I definitely do feel like I switch between what I call hyper and crashing very quickly. It's not pleasant!

I have had this many times. About six weeks ago I took myself into hospital and my medications have been changed. So far I am more stable. Maybe you could talk to your medical advisor about this as it is very tiring and makes you very vulnerable.

I am fine in the early hours of the day but spiral downward as evening comes. I am very tired now and ready for bed.

Sometimes I have mixed episodes with depressions thrown in. Sometimes I have a cycle that lasts a week. Sometimes I cycle in 4 days, Sometimes I cycle a couple times a day. I have had cycles within cycles. I have had long depressions. I have had long mixed episodes. I have had long hypomanias. I have had short hypomanias.

I am all over the place but I am getting it under control.
Thanks for this!

BNLsMOM, I go through the same. "All over the place" is a good description. I can't see any pattern in my 'cycling' at all, so I never know what to expect from one moment to the next.

I have a "mood tracker" app on my phone (not the psychcentral one) and whenever I take it, it says, "your results are a little unusual today". Er, of COURSE my results are unusual, I have a mood disorder! If my results were standard, there'd be little point in doing a mood tracker!!

i too am a rapid cycler it would seem...i was just diagnoes a typical bpd and he has me mood charting for 2 months to go back and get a more clear diagnosis I see myself being diagnosed with a mixed form/rapid cycling as my mood changes multiple times a day and sometimes I feel up and down all at once...I started having a hard time charting but just started putting both a high and a low on a given date because i dont know what else to tell him...let him interpret it!
