Right now I'm taking two 80mg tablets of Geodon, three and a half 450mg tablets of Eskalith, two 150mg tablets of Lamictal, three 50mg tablets of trazodone, one 300mg tablet of seroquel, and 100mg of Wellbutrin.

The day after I drink alcohol I throw up in regular intervals for at least two days.
I don't really feel hung-over (i don't have a headache and am not nauseous).
It's just throwing up (even after there's no food left), and it happens repeatedly thoughout the day for at least two days. I weight 160 and a couple times I have ended up weighing 140 before I got better. Has this happened to anyone?

This started happening shortly after I started taking Geodon. Could it be
one of these pills mixed with alcohol that is causing me to throw up for so
long? Does anyone have any idea of which pill it might be?

Thanks,
Brad

google (search) your drugs and see the interactions that they have with alcohol. i'd be a bit scared to drink if i were taking as many meds as you are. i take wellbutrin and it isn't recommended that you drink with it.

do some research on the net. you'll find answers to all of your med questions concerning the alcohol. good luck, pat

Abstaining for drinking is recommended for virtually all psychiatric meds...

Your choice....

re-reading your post might help you. losing 20 pounds from vomiting ought to put the scare of God into anyone. it's obvious to me that you're in denial about the meds and the drinking. did you not read one of the "pamphlets" that came with your meds? Pat

Twenty pounds is a lot to lose from this!! I don't know what half the meds are that you are taking, but I have taken the Wellbutrin, Lamictal and Seroquel...none of which you should drink with! Have you read the side effects of some of these drugs? You definately need to talk with your doctor about this and consider not drinking. Drinking is not good for anyone (and I do like to drink)let alone someone taking as many meds as you.

Bradley, I agree with DJ. Anyone taking any meds. should always check out interactions, and common sense should tell anyone not to mix stuff. I'm sure no pdoc would tell his patients to wash down some meds with alcohol, eh?
Ask your doc, everything comes with warnings of some kind.
Take care,
DE

You're drinking with your meds? That's pretty dangerous stuff there. I'd advise you to quit drinking if you want to keep taking your meds.

Some meds you cannot drink with at all. They can cause anything from extreme physical sickness to death. I just don't want to see anything bad happen to anyone.

Please rethink what you're putting into your body.

Everyone has already stated, drinking alcohol can interact with medications negatively, causing reactions or interferring with the drugs ability to work properly.

My question is, if someone already has a mood disorder why would they compromise their stability by the addition of a non-prescribed mood altering substance, such as alcohol, which is a depressant?

Is this a sign medications have to be adjusted, because an individual is self medicating, or is this a co-occurring disorder needing treatment.? If this is only social drinking, one might still consider the effects alcohol can have on stability. Moderation is always best.
