I am having racing thought a lot. Is there anyone who can tell me how to deal with them? In the past I have taken these pills the doctor gave me, which are really allergy pills that make me sleepy, laid down and meditated just letting them come and go, this method is very time consuming because the thoughts can last anywhere between a few hours to all day. I am kind of under the gun because I started a new part time job and I am a part time student, time is becoming very valuable. Is there a medication that may work. My doc really don't want me on anxiety pill because they are addictive and I kind of argree. I have been on klonopin in the past and didn't know anything about them. Well I was on them 3 times a day for about 3 months and didn't make my doctors appointment so I couldn't get a refill and the withdraw was almost the worst thing I have ever experienced.

Poor thing! I, too am going thru a med change and my work must NOT know whassup for they will generalize and judge. When I get racing thoughts, it helps me to have colored pens around and doodle. Doodle to my hearts content. The thing is, you don't want people around you to see what you are really putting up with in your head so when I get those crazy thoughts, I start to make random marks in a notebook. It helps me- it may not do the same for you...oh and welcome.

You may have Rapid-cycling bipolar disease. I have it and it can drive you crazy. Your meds may need adjusting. Mine were always adjusting until I took a course on cognitive behavorial training in order to learn what my 'trigger points' were. Discuss this with your 'T' or your doctor, soon.
