I am to start this today. Never had it before. My pdoc promised me it was weight neutral? I sure hope he wasn't making that up. Anyway just looking for some feedback.

I'm taking 10 mg, low dose as not to induce mania hopefully. I hope it's enough to make a difference. I've have nothing but bad luck with AD's so I am really tring to keep positive. Time will tell I guess.

Off to the doc next week to consider throwing and antidepressant into the mix some more after two more weeks of decompensation. Good luck with this stuff, but being medication resistant and hypersensitive depending on the drug class, I'm glad I'm in a good doctor's hands. I hope this works for you, and I'm don't want to flip into mania during the holidays, I've already spend a Christmas in the psych hospital. Happy Holidays. . .keep track, if even a mental note, and don't spin off because of doing what your told! Good luck.

(((Anika))) Good luck...

Definitely keep track - do you keep a daily journal? I use a little weekly planner, and just jot down a few very short notes about how I'm feeling each day, as well as whether there's any med changes. That's in addition to a mood chart, since the chart is super-basic and there's no spot to note that I got all tearful for no reason, or I was feeling high as a kite and totally distracted.

I was prescribed Cipralex about 4 years ago when i was first diagnosed with depression. I took it for more than 6 months. I cant say for sure now whether it worked for me or not because it was a long time ago and i didnt get proper help in the form of counselling either. But it didnt increase my weight...
