We all want to fall in love. Why? Because that experience makes us feel completely alive. Where every sense is heightened, every emotion is magnified, our everyday reality is shattered and we are flying into the heavens. It may only last a moment, an hour, an afternoon. But that doesn't diminish its value. Because we are left with memories that we treasure for the rest of our lives.

To which I replied: That's not love; that's mania.

"that's not love that's mania" I was thinking along the same lines while reading it, except it's hypomania in my case

That's probably true but most people don't know the difference.

To people who haven't experienced mania, what the FB post is describing is sort of like going from a black and white TV (anybody remember those?) to a color TV. For those of us with any degree of mania, we add kaleidoscopes. It's a whole different level that words can simply not do justice.

ONLY flying into the heavens? What about the rest of the super-powers?

It's a good description of infatuation, but yeah, dragonfly, I agree -- words can't really convey hypo/mania. (And yup, I remember b&w!)
Thanks for this!

Don't need mania or infatuation. I would much rather not be flying anywhere. I kind of like it down here on the ground.

It irks me when people think infatuation is love.
