I have some health problems that I have been trying to get sorted for years. First they thought Celiac, then Chrones, have ruled out IBS. I have chronic gastrointestinal problems, joint problems, chronic headaches and migraines, ah just to name a few. I basically cannot eat with out getting sick. And it all runs in cycles. I'm obviously frustrated with this.
The thing is it affects my mood big time. I know there are others here who also suffer chronic illness along with bipolar. Obviously being physically ill is going to affect your mood. I just wish I knew some ways to not let it affect me so much. My cycle of symptoms has just flared up again and I find myself feeling so down. I guess it doesn't help that I have no answers. Or hard to feel "up" when you're stuck in the bathroom half the day. I guess not really a point to this post, except I am feeling crummy inside and out. ![]() |

Oh yeah thought I'd share this gem, waking up with horrible night sweats every single night, freezing, multiple times. It's awesome, I get no sleep and I also get to get up and change the bedding in the middle of the night, because my bed is drenched. Yippee!!!

Thanks Christina,
My dr gave me a fibro trigger points test. I only responded to one point. Can that still be it? The other problem is that my kids, all three of them are having the exact same problems. My old Pdoc even sent me and paid for a naturopath when all else failed. She pointed to celiac too, but she also said no nightshades, ugh ok she gave me a huge list of things not to eat. I did gluten free for eight months, not a lot of luck, but hard to know if your being cross contaminated. I think I may need to try again. I hate being on a restricted diet tho, but pretty much I eat grains and I am almost instantly sick. There is also an interesting connection between gluten intolerance or celiac and moods. Wouldn't that be something? I'll read more about fibro tho, my mom has fibro as well. and maybe I should stop being such a retard and get over the grains. like duh'. It just overwhelms me tho. |

Awwww hun ,, you have every right to be upset and tired of all this mess . I would think your whole body is in a uproar and its just snowballing ..
Look up diets that are for " anti immflamatory " they show you what food to eat to slow down your bodies reactions to what your eating .. For me Diary anything cause my fibro pain to roar and then i pay for it with gastro problems for days .. Sure does SUCK .. when our bodies react like this .. ((( Hugs ))) ![]()

Also last night I ate a 12 grain bagel. Again retarded. I was immediately sick chest pain back pain, stomach, and couldn't breath. This morning I wake up feeling depressed as hell. Like seriously absolutely retarded.
Yes dairy huge culprit. I've always been lactose intolerant. |

I suffer from the same symptoms. My heart really goes out to you in regard to the migraines. They can be torture. I have some success using gentle yin yoga techniques and a meditative dance form called Butoh. The gentle movement with the breath helps with the pain. Pain killers don't seem to help much with me. As far as food goes the only thing that helps me is to eat very little and to completely avoid sugar and processed food.

(((Anika))). Really sorry you are feeling rough.
Has your doc checked out your gallbladder, lab test & ultrasound? Another odd ball thought would be early menopause, labs for hormone levels? Consider a second opinion on dx of fibro. As for your kids also feeling sick, does their doc know their symptoms are same as yours? Only other odd ball thing I could think of is there anything irritating in your apt/home that could be making the four of you feel sick? Well, that's my uneducated two cents worth. Hope you feel better very soon. ![]() |

It's odd that your kids feel that way too. My son and I just went through something similar 3 years ago.
We had a parasite. It took a double antibiotic to get rid of it. And years ago I got sick after eating fresh shrimp and I became horribly sick from that too. Nobody could figure out what was wrong. I was finally told I was anorexic. I was so mad. 10 years later I found the parasite myself. (no details, it's gross). Both times I had to suggest this to the doctor. And the second time I insisted that he take stool samples. I was not going to suffer for 10 years again. This will make you feel like you do.

ok funny story,
At the end of this summer my nephew returned from Kenya. He went on a trip over there to help build a school for girls and build wells. He brought me back some very yummy Kenyan coffee because I am such an avid coffee drinker. I was so sick, like Iv'e never been sick before. I went to the dr and we did the stool samples. I did indeed have a parasite, from the coffee, no less. My dr said it was odd that the parasite survived the brewing process but that it can happen ( old coffee maker that didn't get that hot ), and that Kenya does have a problem with parasites and the coffee plants. I was soo grossed out , but I took the medicine and things cleared up quickly. I had many ultrasounds as a kid, I've had the same problems my whole life, same as my kids. I can't think of a time when one of them hasn't been complaining of a tummy ache or soreness, it's like a daily thing ![]() ![]() I haven't had my gallblader checked, or hormones levels, and the kids have not been checked for parasites, but pretty much every other lab test you can think of. I've had barium enimas, colonoscopies (did find abnormal cells), x-rays of joints, and on and on. I'm quite sick of being proded and poked at. I could ask that he checked those things as well, it's worth a shot. Thanks for all your advice and input guys, I appreciate it, I know this isn't exactly bipolar related. It just isn't helping the moods much. ![]() |

Have you looked at the "Paleo Diet" guidelines and given that a try? It has a lot of similar restrictions as you've mentioned trying, but may be the combo would be better. Wish I knew of something that would help - it sounds so miserable, and you and your family certainly don't deserve any more challenges than you already have!
