My Fibro is insane lately on top of my Haldol Im taking Inderal to counteract the side effects of Haldol ( extreme restlessness) so needless to say Im literally going NUTS !!!!! I have spent the day in tears due to the pain. I cant stand sit or lay down for more than a few minutes .. I found a 50 mg Seroquel so Im taking it and I hope to god it just knocks me out for a long timeeeeeeeeeeee !

I saw my Tdoc yesterday hes very knowlegable about fibro and Bipolar he told me he honestly doesnt know how I cope ,, well obviously I have hit my breaking point.

I have tried ALL the " fibro" meds over the last 2+ years NOTHING makes any real differance so seeing yet another doctor for my fibro is a waste of money I dont even have.

Im considering stopping all my meds and just seeing what happens . I have tried so many types of meds for my Bipolar the haldol has helped but I think the extreme restlessness is keeping my fibro pain at a level 9 or 10 even tho im on 80mg of inderal for the haldol issues .

Im just at my wits end I just want to walk in front of a bus to stop all this chronic pain ....

Im sorry I just had to vent and get it off my chest ... Im just having a giant pity party for myself today ... everyone is allowed one every once in a while I figure .

Oh morethingswrong! I've just read your post and wanted to tell you I'm so sorry you have to deal with all this. Fibromyalgia and Bipolar......it sounds like there couldn't be a worse combination. I wish I had something to contribute from a medical standpoint, but I'm limited to just telling you it's ok to vent. We're here to listen. You're allowed to have a pity party as often as you feel the need to!!! I'm wishing better days for you. All my best......grey

Rheumatoid Arthritis and Bipolar here. You are not alone in this, my friend! I have great sympathy and empathy for you, and wish I knew of a miracle drug that would take away the pains. All I can really do is send you strings of hugs and tell you to Vent away! That's what we're here for. Hugs and cuddle, Buggs

I am so so sorry hun!! I know exactly what you mean I also have fibro aswell! I'm so sorry you've got to the unbearable point where nothing seems to work! The two main things that help me with the fibro are rest and heatpad. But it's easier said than done when you're feeling restless!! Massive (((((((hugs))))))) I wish i could make it all better for you hun. I know it seems as though it will never end but please be reassured that this level of pain will pass!! Good luck xxxx

You said you've tried all the drugs and nothing helped. I'm so sorry for that! I tried a million different drugs before I found the one that works. I take 60mg of Cymbalta and it kills 2 birds with one stone. It keeps my pain at bay and relieves my depressive symptoms. I take an antipsychotic to reduce the risk of mania, but I don't think that's been a problem and I'm slowly weaning off of it.

I hope you feel better very soon. I know when you're in that much pain nothing helps.

Even my arthritis, which I've had since college, is helped by my ongoing acupuncture. Here is one link, but you can search out many on the web. Just in case you haven't explored it...

Find out all you can about acupressure. Might want to spend some going to a pro after you think you know where your pressure points are. This ought to help you.

Acupressure can also be done at home, as opposed to acupuncture. It has a soothing effect but it's not as direct. I use it on my boyfriend sometimes due to the pain from his back injuries, along with massage. I'm no expert, but there are a LOT of good resources online that you can try yourself. Or have a good friend with strong hands do some reading & help you out, free of charge! Hopefully, if that has any slight success, it will be something to hold you off in the worst of times until you can afford a professional treatment!

I have fibromyalgia here. It is painful. Mine is due to my anxiety and depression. I am always tense. I go to a massage therapist and I love going to her because she doesn't press hard where it hurts. I have had massages that were very painful. When I go to my current one it only occasionally hurts. My neck, shoulders, back, and arms are the most painful. I am sorry you are going through this. It isn't fun.

I'm a big fan of acupressure. I had chronic back pain that went away with acupressure (it took a couple of years of treatment though). Have you tried yoga?

bipolar and fibro-pdoc put me on neurontin/900mg. rarely have fibro episodes since then except in severe stress situs.
is there another drug your pdoc can recco rather than haldol too? find it has many uncontrolable side effects.

Anticonvulsants
This class of drugs is used for fibromyalgia because these medications also help treat neuropathic pain, which occurs when nerves are overexcited and need to be desensitized. Drugs in this category include pregabalin (Lyrica), as well as carbamazepine (Carbatrol, Epitol, Equetro, Tegretol, and Tegretol-XR) and gabapentin (Gabarone, Neurontin).

sorry you are having to deal with this.

Neurontin is good, but your tolerance can make it ineffective after a while & you'll need to raise the dosage. I took that to deal with RLS & my Mum takes it for fibro/bipolar. When you go off it, the worst side effects are extreme dizziness & what I call "fireworks". You see a bunch of sparks in your peripheral vision.

I am sorry you are in so much pain. I hope you are spoiling yourself and weathering the storm. Is there an inexpressive spa you can go to? My friend took me to the spa for four hours when I was depressed and in pain. All the heat and relaxation helped so much. It dropped my pain levels to a five.

Thanks everyone for all the great ideas

I think once my finances change and I can afford some things my pain level will decrease .. Stress is a big one for fibro .. I do Yoga and Meditation which has been a lifesaver. But somedays nothing helps LOL
I also take Neurontin But to be honest I dont feel it helps anymore..

Today im at my normal level 7 pain and I thank god for that I can funtion this way at least .
