I haven't heard or seen things since starting the Seroquel almost two months ago. Last night I was hearing bells ringing and whispering. I haven't seen anything, at least not yet. I'm under a ton of stress due to marital issues (non-bipolar related) and lack of sleep last night. It was around 3:30 when I was sitting up with my five month old. I went to bed at around 5, fell asleep at around 6 and then got up at 10 or 10:30.

Since I was hearing stuff last night should I increase the Seroquel to 75 mg? Or should I wait? My psych said to it increase it if I needed to but to call her if I did.

Yes, I'd increase & notify her. Auditory can indicate anxiety I think, but you want sleep tonight. The increase won't hurt you, just let her know ASAP.

A good night's sleep might fix that too.

I took an Ativan at around 5:00 and just took another one. She told me to take as needed. I haven't taken any in weeks but right now I'm just trying to keep from having a full blown breakdown. It's been a long time since I felt this way. I had forgotten just what a terrifying feeling it is to be right on the edge.

If your psychiatrist told you to increase if you feel the need to...then I see no reason why you shouldn't. Just remember to try and enforce at least some regularity to the dosage of your medication and time at which you take it.

Please also inform your psychiatrist if you experience and of the following: heart arrhythmia (an irregular heartbeat - look for heart palpitations/flutters); moderate to severe drowsiness; breathlessness or severe headaches. Even though these are rare...I get them a lot on my high dosage of Quitiapine - especially during the first few weeks.

Sometimes you find that if you increase it too quickly, the above side effects actually prevent you from sleeping as well.

Keep us updated.
