Okay so, about 16-17 days ago, I went to the ER with severe stomach pain and they prescribed me a Fentanyl patch for 15 days and referred me to a pain management clinic because of the unbearable amount of stomach pain I live with.
So, I called to set up an appointment and the nurse said they didn't want to take me on as a patient. So, my patch just ran out, and not only am I in horrific stomach pain; I'm shaking, having cold sweats, can't sit still and my mind is racing. I'm so aggitated. I don't know if it's from the patch. Or mania. Or both? I'm going through a hard time with my marriage as well as my health. I haven't left the house in weeks. I don't go out for anything, I just lay in bed. I don't want to move. Or socialize. I just want to go to sleep, and not wake up. I keep praying to God to help me cope and He doesn't. I need some encouraging words or something because I'm starting to give up. I'm mentally and physically in hell. |

That's rough. Be it mania or withdrawal I would probably think the patch triggered it. No matter, I would go back to the ER for further evaluation. You may just leave with another patch but your symptoms will probably decrease. And maybe try to get in with your Primary Care Provider tomorrow and have them help you get into a pain management doctor. Good luck. It WILL be ok.

God's grace will get you through all of this. I hope this is at least a
little helpful. And I think the fact that this is so so incredibly hard yet you are getting through means you are coping very well.

I've been screaming in pain most of the day and all last night. I'm exhausted. I want to take my seroquel and it's 7:50. I just want out of this hell for like, a few hours.
I've been to the ER a lot in my life for severe pain like this, so they ignore me. They are just like, oh, here she is again. Pain medications, then we'll send her home. So helpful. And, no doctors; my GI, obgyn doctor, family doctor...nobody wants to manage my pain. I'm young, and they think it's addicting to use narcotics. Although I have to use them anyway. I'm sorry but if a person is screaming and having an upset stomach, and losing so much weight that they look like a stick, super pale, feeling like they're dying - THAT'S STUPID BECAUSE THEY'LL KEEP GOING TO THE ER. It's drives me insane. This is making my bipolar worse. This would make a mentally healthy person crazy. This pain is unbearable. My Dad just told me it's because I'm not close to God. I want to cry when I hear that. I can't help it! UGH ![]() Thank you guys for your help, I really appreciate it! |

I've been told the same stuff. Bipolar is demons too! Dumb, do they at least know what is causing the severe pain?

I have multiple physical diagnosis, but nothing should cause pain this severe. They can't explain it and it's been going on for 7 years.
So, that's really frustrating. |

I went into the ER with severe abdominal pain and they did blood and urine tests and then a CT scan. They found that I had pancreatitis. Did they do any blood tests? Any type of scan? Rather than going to the ER, I would go to my regular doctor and ask for blood test and at least an x-ray to rule out something like gallstones.

I'm so sorry you're having a hard time. If your pain has been investigated many times and no answer has been found then a pain clinic is probably your best bet in managing this. If the one they referred you won't take the referral maybe there is another clinic you could be referred to? |

Sorry that you are suffering and that they can't find what is causing the pain. You have my thoughts and prayers also...
