If so, please share what delusions you were having. I suffered from so many. It caused so many problems, making me look like a nut, because i shared them with everyone, posting on FB and everything. It felt like the stuff i was experiencing was so real, It's very embarrassing, and weird looking back at them.

Hey there,

I have only been delusional once I think well once that has been noticed.

I thought people were tampering with my meds so I stopped taking them for over 1 month and a half. By the time I went to my Psychiatrist I was really delusional. I got really scared. This has been the only time I have been delusion I think.

Last mixed episode I was convinced we had run out of money and made lists of furniture to sell to have money to buy food to feed our kids. In reality we never missed any bills or had a lack of money for groceries. I told my p-doc I wasn't sure if that was a delusion or just an irrational fear. She said it was a delusion.

I fantasize about things and sometimes I get caught up in them and I forget that they are just that.. fantasies. I was super mad the other night because of the way the police had trampled over my backyard to get to my neighbors house... and as I sat there smoking, looking at the footprints I came to and I had a jolt of adrenaline when I realized that... hey... there were no police! That was something I was daydreaming about. I could still see the footprints but I had to let it go.

I had one where letters in a sign had an underlying pattern that I HAD to decipher. Being on SSRI alone led to the strangest experiences I've ever had.

I had delusions several times mostly from paranoia and delusions of grandure at least im told thats what happened. My delusions often included myfamily hurting me or people in the house trying to take me away somewhere most of my delusions are caused by paranoia.

I hear voices and verbally argue with imaginary people. I also have delusions of grandeur.

Mine are mostly the grandeur type, where I think I can take on a humongous project, and then only get it half finished. I once started my own crafting business, bought $600 worth of supplies, plus the monthly booth rental, and then crashed and burned. I still have an almost finished doll house from 2003. The proposed recipient is now 12 and too old for doll houses... I went to paint my bedroom, got 2/3rds done, and after 5 years still hadn't finished. (finally called the professionals in on that one.)

I get paranoid delusions, like I feel like I have done something wrong and I don't know what it is, but I am being monitored for it. I think that certain cars follow me. That's the main one, but a few years ago, I was thinking that I had the ingredients for the secret of life and that I was put on the earth for the purpose of spreading that message.

Trigger

Another delusion involved me thinking that my purpose in life was to give birth to my two kids and now that they have had a start in life, ages 9 and 4, that I was meant to kill myself.

Some messed up stuff. Now my meds are better and I am not experiencing any delusions that I know of.

I had a delusion long ago that I was being chased down by a secret organization of spies. These spies were the "magical" unit of the spies, and I was magical and they were out to stop me because I was good and they were evil. It lasted about 5 years.

So, don't be embarased. But do tell your doctor when you're having these thoughts.

Mine have always been short lived but to mention a few, like monkey man, invisibility. Thinking I could just tuck and roll while jumping out of a moving truck. Jumps down don't look to far. Closing my eyes while driving. Stuff like that. Thinking cars are following me and taking unnecessary turns to prove myself wrong. Thinking there are different meanings to what people are saying and thinking endlessly trying to figure out the true meaning. Thinking my family is out to get me in some way I'm unsure of. Feeling the same way about friends at times.

I've had this one too, repeatedly. I rarely get projects done because of this.

I recently had an episode last year where I was paranoid that the people walking behind me were hired to follow me. Every time someone would turn onto a different street, I'd believe they were just relaying to the next person walking behind me.

My most recent grandios project was I was going to crochet every member of my family a blanket. I got hundreds of things of yarn and I finished the first one. Then I did a trick to get the second one done even though it's only half a blanket. Then I did the same trick with the third one, but it's even smaller... then I just gave up...

I once thought people were following me and I was driving around town trying to avoid a particular car. I also came home and went "Hey! I figured out the thread that binds my life together! I know the secret!"

Thanks everyone, who is sharing...Mine are similar to most of yours. It's so odd, how our minds do that. I had a 2 month episode filled with all kinds of delusions. They seemed so real and caused so much trouble.

Telepathic powers? Check!
People after me? Check! (Though I never thought it was CIA or government or anything, I'd be like, "people are after me! But, not the government that's what crazy peoople think!" As proof I wasn't crazy)
Doctors screwing with my meds? Check! I was convinced that my doctor was trying to make me insane so he could feed me to a cannibal in a psychward.
Insivible people and alternate realities? Check!
Hearing voices? Check!
Seeing things? Check!
People I am close to being replaced by monsters or demons? Check!

This happens when depressed too.

When depressed I might believe I've already committed suicide and that I'm dead and in hell. Even failed an attempt and used that as proof I was dead and my existence is immortal. Everything would be out to get me. Objects would "speak" to me to inflict pain and suffering.

Odd part is, a lot of the time when I'm like that I *know* it isn't right but at the same time I know these strange things are real which leads to a lot of confusion and secrecy which leads to more paranoia.

I too haven't shared much of it with doctors. A little but, I get really sensitive about it and always feel like they don't believe me anyway, because I know I shouldn't believe me!

I have had some not many. Mine are mainly when I am driving. I feel like any car that gets behind me even for a short distance is following me. I don't get better either til the car goes in another direction than what I am going.
