One pound fewer would place me in "overweight" category. I would not be obese anymore. That feels good! I was initially planning to post it when I GET there, but could not wait.

I ordered a bike from Amazon yesterday. Once I start biking to and from work, I will be logging one hour of exercise daily. I am sure that the scale will respond to it positively. Plus, I stopped weight gain producing Depakote and increased the dose of Metformin. I trust that these factors taken together will give me the desired results.

That's actually true about self-love. I try to take care of myself that way. I go the more cumbersome route of migraine prevention: I drink tons of fluid during the day instead of taking Depakote. That's time-consuming and of course results in frequent bathroom trips. It would have been easier to just pop two Depakote pills at night and not think of migraine prevention every hour, making sure that I drink tea or water or Vitalyte. So I go the harder way in order to lose weight, and that IS indeed self-love. Thank you for pointing it out.

Yes it is self love! And an even bigger piece is that you recognize and celebrate your achievement and hard work, and that you see that you are choosing to be responsible for your own life, to make it better!
Thanks for this!

Plateaud. I guess I eat too much fruit. But what can I do - few things in life are better than local California fruit...

Well, now I know why I crave all that fruit. I have been taking Elavil for sleep and it increases appetite. Now I cannot take what otherwise seemed a perfect sleep aid. No luck.

I have been sucking my stomach in for a coupla days, just hangin around the house, and I swear I noticed a difference today. I decided to start working on my abs sooner rather than later. it's always my biggest discourager when I catch a reflection of myself in a store window. plus I thought stronger abs would eventually make walking easier.

Finally there! Just barely there, but there: "As of Sep 29th, 2012, your BMI was 29.95"

I have been exercising less than usual in the past week, and I do not restrict. So it must be either Metformin working, or the fact that I discontinued Depakote, or a combination of the two.

Thank you! And the best thing about it? I have been eating as much fruit and chocolate as I have wanted to - no restricting.

Wrote a thank you letter to the endocrinologist because I think that Metformin is at least partially contributing to the weight loss.

The BMI stays at 29.8, but the body looks so much better - more muscle, it must be. Cannot wait for the measuring tape to arrive from Amazon. Between biking that makes me want to eat less and Topamax, all I had for dinner yesterday was a glass of milk. And that, because I take Geodon which is only absorbed with food. So I must have at least something for dinner.

So far only one instance of a "lost word" on Topamax. This I can put up with. So for so good. And there are still things I can try to add: racewalking training, swimming, and badminton, but I will wait until I plateau with them, as Dark Heart advised.

I am just not a very coordinated and dexterous person and I am not sure that I know how to measure the waist circumference correctly, and even less so, other circumferences.
