...every now and then?....guess I like to rip into myself just a bit and I don't know what for? ....it's probably disappointment or something disappointing like that.

my brain has gone and done a weirdo on me today and it's instantly obvious to me that beneath all the meticulous and complicated layers that make up "me".... I'm really only about 6 years old!

...and thats about 35 years too young! I don't really want to get into detail because I don't know if I can...it's just a distinctive 'feeling' that the mechanisms of maturity have passed me by and I hate all the questions that announces!

...like "I feel like I'm such a child"....does that matter? ...it's safe being 6 in my bubble...but it's perplexing outside

I don't know anything else just now...nite

I am listening .. quietly, James.

I am not quite grown up either, I used to get upset about this, but I dunno, for me I think I am ok, my child bits feel like a veil of goodness, protection and I would rather not let it slip into the night.

I have no idea how you feel about what you are going through, or what exactly it looks like to you. I am very much not my age, I dunno tho sometimes I feel soooo old, like an old person in this weird body, my mind feels old, but on the other hand un-grown, I never did get to grow up, forever old and forever a child, and never in the middle.

Sorry, just " I hear you".

i know what you mean...

i'm 25, but in reality- nothing gives me greater pleasure than sitting in front of the tv, preschool channel on, and playing along with the colourful animated friends i'll never get to meet.

i even believe that peter pan is real, and 1 day he'll come and visit me- now that, is what you call mature. :d

Yep. The child needs our loving attention. Let him/her out to play! It's wonderful that way, isn't it?

All of us are looking around at the others around us, thinking they are so grown up and waiting our turn... our time to be so grown up... but everyone is feeling this way! no one actually feels grown up James... we are all children in that sense.

That's cute, Shatteredsanity! I've been singing that tune off and on in my mind ever since you mentioned it. Remember so well learning it for my grandson.

Thanks for that; lol

That's something I hate about myself. I am a grown man. I'm 48 and I still behave with the emotional maturity of a twelve year old. I just don't get it. I am an intelligent person and yet I use such poor judgment that you'd think I'm on hard drugs, or drinking and that's not happening. I'm just a twit! This has been an issue for me recently, so I guess I'm a little passionate on the topic right now. I was reading the above posts and they give me hope that maybe I can just embrace that juvenile and let him teach me to let go once in a while.

Being a grown up isn't all it's cracked up to be. Being a kid we all wanted to "Grow up" Once we hit the "age" (whatever that was) where we are suppost to be acting like an adult with all the responsibilty that goes with it.. We dont want it ! We yearn to be kids again so we can get a break and just enjoy the little things that seemed so magical to us again.

Im going to go play in my sandbox now.

you're welcome:

here's another one you could learn if you wanted to- the butterfly one

start off with your finger on somebody's arm slowly moving your finger up while singing:

the creepy crawly Caterpillar, crreep creep creep

the creepy crawly Caterpillar, goes to sleep (stop moving your finger)

Caterpillar, by and by

turns in to, a butterfly (on the word butterfly tickle the other person down the arm like a really fast butterfly)

The itsy bitsy spider
crawled up the spout again
waiting for the rain
that will wash him down again

why he must do this
i guess I'll never know
but that itsy bitsy spider
goes where he needs to go

almost to the top and
he gets washed down by the rain
he gets up again and
struggles through the pain

starts his climb again
that spider is insane
he climbs up that spout and
never does complain
Thanks for this!

...some rhymes did come from creepy stuff..

like the black plague!...ring a ring a rosy ....

there was so much death and stink and death!

bubonic plague presented itself with inflamed circular lumps on the skin.
they smelled bad too when they oozed!..(rings of rosy colour)

....because of limited medical understanding ..people believed that it was transmitted by smelling the ooze!....so they kept bunches of flowers and carried them where they went....(pocket full of posies)

...the most infected people coughed up blood and those nearby became infected too....sneeze (a tissue a tissue..we all fall down)

thanks for visiting the institute of dubblemonkey education

hehe
Thanks for this!

Ring around the rosy.....
pocket full of posies.....
we burn the bodies to ashes...
ashes...
we'll all fall down!

You have a ring around the rosy....
Even though you have a pocket full of posies....
We'll burn your body to ashes....
ashes....
We'll all fall too!!
