Yes I am depressed, Hamster.

I see my shrink tomorrow. The last time I saw her I talked to her about the depression and she upped my Lamictal- said it should help as it helps more for the depression end of the mood stabilizers rather than the manic end (like lithium).
She also told me they use it on non-bpers too- for depression only...never knew that.
I don't see any change since the increase..its been about 3 weeks.

I am also on Straterra.... going on 12 weeks now, I think. I have some a.d.d symptoms and the Straterra is supposed to help with my focus, concentration, memory AND decrease my appetite. She also told me it could help my depression since if I can focus more and get things done... I'll feel better about myself ....and may build on that.

So I will ask for 1 more increase in the Straterra and if no change- will taper off and try an anti-deppressant.
I'm getting pretty sick of the "med merry go round".

Now my dentist, part of the reason I've gotten over my fear of going to a dentist, is because his office staff is so nice that I walk in and feel safe.

Hope you're feeling better Seaswept.

Thanks Blue! Whats been helping the most is the heating pad and Vicoden.

I know, my therapist told me people actually do change dr.s just because the office staff is so bad.

I went to the dermatologist this week and they are so friendly, When I was leaving, the secretary even smiled and waved goodbye to me while she was on the phone. Also where I'm going tomorrow- psych doc- they are super nice too.. they say "just call if you need anything honey".

Lamictal helps loads of people. It never helped me in the least. What helped me - instantly - was a small dose of Prozac. But everyone is different and upping Lamictal is the obvious way to go.

Lamictal did not help me either. But lithium did, it helped break me out of a long AD resistant depression. And lithium is used for depression and especially helpful in curbing sui thoughts (they say).

I have that same sad, frustrating circle with the add. When I can't focus, can't get things done, get overwhelmed, get depressed, can't get to work, money problems, more depressed, problems stacking, more overwhelmed, more not getting done, and so on.

Have you tried Welbutrin? I really liked it when I took it, along with adderall and lithium. It's for depression, add, appetite suppressant, supposedly helps people quit smoking.

Probably pointless to recommend any psych meds cuz we all have majorly different reactions. But I would love to see you break out of the depression and add madness.

Did you end up going to a pain specialist or did primary doc take care of that?

If It was me which it has been many times I would make the appt. and return to the office with an easy and quick apology for the trouble and urgency in your matter. They deal with crap all the time. Be glad they even offered a return appt. I mean your established there don't split. Then you can go somewhere else & it ain't always greener. than your more pissed. If your not stubborn and can get over this be a good choice. I understand by the way.
